Acid Man ( アシッドマン Ashiddo Man) is a Robot Master set to appear in Mega Man 11. Originally a chemist robot who was turned into a stereotypical "mad scientist" after being reprogrammed by Dr. Wily, Acid Man now uses his chemistry skills to do Wily's bidding. He was also given a Speed Gear to boost his combat abilities. His Special Weapon, Acid Barrier, gives Mega Man the ability to generate a shield made of acid that not only protects him from all damage, but also lets him shoot globs of acid at enemies.

Appearance

Acid Man is a stout Robot Master with a disproportionately thin lower body and outfitted with green and purple body armor.  His right arm is a blaster and his head, which is encased in what appears to be green gel, resembles an acid drop. Acid Man constantly wears a breathing mask to protect himself from the noxious scents of the acid he uses in combat. In addition, transparent tubes are featured on Acid Man's body, armor, and legs.  His feet are split into two digits, one in front and one in back.

Trivia

• Acid Man is the second acid-themed Robot Master and the third acid-themed boss overall in the Mega Man series.  He is preceeded by Toad Man, who attacks with acid rain, and Toxic Seahorse, who is made of liquid metal and attacks by launching bouncing balls of acid.
  • Acid Man's color scheme and design are also reminiscent to Toxic Seahorse, possibly as an homage to him.
• Despite his info being unreleased until recently, Acid Man appears to share quite a lot of similarities with Chemistry Man, who himself was introduced in the animated show, Mega Man: Fully Charged, around the same time.
  • Both are repurposed robots, as Chemistry Man started out as "Mr. NRT," who was a science teacher robot who was fired for being too boring, while Acid Man was originally created to work at a chemical plant.
  • Both their designs include see-through glasslike materials filled with green chemicals as a prominent feature.
    • In fact, Chemistry Man even wears a mask-plate like Acid Man's when he goes into "battle mode."
  • Both acquire a speed power-up from Wily, though indirectly in Chemistry Man's case; it occurs when Mega Man plants a buggy enhancer made by Bert Wily onto Chemistry Man as a means of defeating him.
• Acid Man's weakness to Block Dropper might be a reference to acid bricks, a type of brick that is highly resistant to chemicals.
• Acid Man can be seen traversing the chemical stream at several points in the background as Mega Man travels through his stage. Unlike Impact Man, however, he does not attack Mega Man at these points.
