Air Man Stage (エアーマンステージ) is a stage in Mega Man 2 and Mega Man II that has Air Man as the boss.

Appearances[]

Mega Man 2[]

Air Man's Stage takes place high in the air, along what appears to be a glass-structured sky ridge. Being the first of many air-themed stages to come in the Mega Man franchise, there are a lot of pits to be careful of. The main gimmicks to be wary of are giant red heads known as Goblins, unique to this stage. They are essentially an indestructible giant platform with drill-like horns rising up and down the sides of the platform in long intervals. Once the player stands on the Goblin as to get across, Petit Goblins will be continuously released from the sides to attack Mega Man. A more subtle gimmick are the clouds in the background, which aren't just for aesthetics: they can also block the player's view of Mega Man, the stage foreground, and incoming enemies. The clouds do not block enemies in the Mega Man: The Wily Wars version. Beating the stage will additionally reward the player with Item-2.

Air Man's Stage in the GB demake still takes place in the glass-structured sky ridge, and its layout is nearly similar to the NES counterpart. Goblins return here, unique to the stage, though they and their drills are slightly smaller in size. They are also always placed next to each other, and appear in the first and second horizontal rooms, with one inactive Goblin hanging out above the boss gate. Clouds are also used as a way of blocking vision, though they don't get in the player's way as much. One particular cloud actually hides a big health pickup. Beating the stage will additionally reward you with Rush Jet.

Trivia[]

  • If Mega Man is hit with an Air Shooter while standing on Item-1 next to the boss shutter, a glitch will occur, transporting Mega Man to a glitchy location that is similar in layout to Wily Stage 2. The stage cannot be cleared, thus forcing the player to reset the game.
