Angepitoyeir (アンジュピトール Anjupitōru), often shortened to Angie (アンジー Anjī), is a character in Mega Man X DiVE. He is the younger brother of Droitclair and Eratoeir, who are all glitches in the Deep Log hosting the Sigma Virus.
Characteristics[]
Angepitoyeir is not originally from the Mega Man X series, but resembles a Reploid nonetheless. His design is based on a Christian cherub, a kind of angel represented as a cute child. He is a young boy with pink hair with angel wings on the front. He has white armor, including a white shawl with a hood and black shorts, and angelic wings on his back.
Angie has the naive personality of a child. He is very trusting of his siblings, Droit and Erato. However, he is also very troubled, and can be dangerous when he flies into a rage, and ViA notes that he has a powerful aura.
History[]
Angepitoyeir is the youngest of three siblings, including Droitclair and Eratoeir, who mysteriously appeared in the Deep Log due to glitches. He became a host of the Sigma Virus, making him a target of the Player and RiCO's cleansing of the Deep Log.
Angepitoyeir briefly appears when the Player faces Droitclair, and speaks to her with a shadowed-out mugshot. When she is defeated, Angie is shocked to see her explode, unaware that she would return once the Sigma Virus was purged from her digital body.
Angepitoyeir is revealed in the event "The Pitiful Host: Angepitoyeir", where the Player hunts him down after having defeated and restored Droit. Droit accompanies the Player's Hunter Program in Air Force to draw Angie out, but he remains loyal to Eratoeir and ignores them. When they finally corner Angie, he is enraged to learn that they actually planned to defeat him, and manifests as Final Sigma W to battle them. The Player defeats Angie after all, and he sadly accepts his fate as he disappears and is purged of the Sigma Virus, now granted the ability to return as a Hunter Program.

Etymology[]
Angepitoyeir's name is a portmanteau of the French word ange ("angel"), referencing his cherub-like appearance, and the French verb apitoyer ("to pity"). This connection is referenced in the title of his event, "The Pitiful Host Angepitoyeir". His name could also be a reference to the putto, an angelic male child found in classical art.
