A Battle Chip Gate (バトルチップゲート Batoru Chippu Gēto) is a device created by Capcom and Takara to be used with toy PETs and in the Rockman.EXE video game series. Unlike the PET, Battle Chip Gates don't feature any kind of interface or the ability to house a NetNavi; instead, they can only be used to transfer Battle Chips to remote NetNavis, even NetNavis that don't belong to the operator.
Note that the Battle Chip Gate, Progress Chip Gate, and Beast Link Gate and their toy Battle Chips aren't compatible with each other. They are succeeded by the Wave Scanner.
The gates themselves have only ever appeared once in the games themselves as a poster in Higsby's, and a icon of the device will appear on the top left of the screen while connected.
As of the release of the Rockman.EXE Advanced Collection, the Link Gate features and exclusive content are still only accessible on the original GBA games, as no re-releases (Virtual Console and Advanced Collection) have replicated these features.
Battle Chip Gate[]
The Battle Chip Gate is an accessory created for Mega Man Battle Network 4. It can be connected to the Game Boy Advance and allow the player to transmit real-life toy Battle Chips to the NetNavis in the game in Operation Battles. The Battle Chip Gate is also compatible with toy Advanced PETs and Rockman.EXE 4.5 Real Operation, and it can unlock minigames in Rockman Zero 3.

Beast Link Gate[]
For RockMmna.EXE6, Rockman.EXE Battle Chip Stadium and the Link PET_EX, the Battle Chip Gate would again be updated, this time to the Beast Link Gate (ビーストリンクゲート). These devices have the same use as their predecessors but come in two styles representative of the Cybeasts Glaga and Falzer. It also has a limited Netto version that was released alongside the sixth game. Unlike the prior Link Gates, this Gate does not change the gameplay style into Operation Mode when inserted. If any version of the Link Gate is inserted, you get access to a permanent Beast Out Rockman as a Link Navi. This version of RockMan cannot use the in-game Cross Menu to activate Cross Beast (and needs to use Link Navi Data Chips in a battle) and does not possess a Level.
Library[]

Data Library in Rockman.EXE 4.5
If a toy Battle Chip that was not obtained yet in the main games is used with a device, it will be included in the game's library (excluding chips that are not part of the library). If the player has the required chips, this can be used to obtain the library completion symbols displayed in the Title Screen earlier. However, the chips will lack their icons in the library until they are obtained in the game.
Rockman.EXE 4.5 Real Operation is an exception to this, only adding the chip's name and icon when it is used with the Battle Chip Gate, with the icons being absent by default and being only included in the library by using the toy chips.

Anime[]

In the MegaMan NT Warrior anime series, the Battle Chip Gate is also used to send Battle Chips to humans who are transformed with Cross Fusion or remote Navis, or to even activate Battle Chips that don't require a NetNavi for the effect (such as field-altering Battle Chips like Rock Cube (which can still crush opponents) or Grass Stage instead of swords or projectiles. Although, it can still activate certain offensive chips like Flame Tower, Mini Bomb, and Time Bomb, or even use certain Battle Chips to summon their virus counterparts, e.g. Cannon summons Canodumb, Guard/Shockwave summons Mettaur, Life Aura summons Scuttlest, Dash Attack summons Fishy, Train/Trident Arrow summons Piranha, etc. Sword Chips have never been activated on their own by the Battle Chip Gate.[Citation needed]
The Progress Chip Gate appeared in Rockman.EXE Stream.
In Rockman.EXE Beast and Beast+, an alteration of the Beast Link Gates called Link Gates are used as PETs by the residents of the parallel world Beyondard, regardless that they lack of an interface screen.
