The conversation is cut short as Dimensional Converters emerge around the tower. Dr Regal arrives, declaring he’s planning to use the Past Time Tunnel to make Duo’s powers his own. Dark Rockman travels through the past tunnel. Barrel sends Colonel to help, using the past tunnel to communicate with the current time. They group arrives 30 years in the past and makes their way to the Cyberworld of Duo’s comet. Rockman gets another feeling, realizing it’s Dark Rockman’s thoughts in sync with his own.

Blues and Searchman stay behind to fight the viruses that accompany Dark Rockman. Rockman catches up to Dark Rockman, the two sword fighting as Dark Rockman yells about obtaining Duo’s powers. Suddenly, Rockman sees Dark Rockman’s memory of asking Regal why people yearn for bonds. Regal explains to Dark Rockman that people yearn for bonds because they’re weak cowards who cannot survive alone. Regal tells Dark Rockman that if he’s obtains Duo’s powers he won’t need companions. As the memory ends, Dark Rockman overpowers Rockman and pushes him back. Dark Rockman predicts every move Netto and Rockman will take. Rockman and Netto are able to fight against Dark Rockman without him predicting their moves. However, the fight causes a barrier to break, revealing another cyberworld behind it.

As Blues and Searchman catch up, Dark Rockman escapes through the hole in the barrier. Dark Rockman makes it to the Comet’s control system, using the crests to grant himself Duo’s powers. Unfortunately for him, Slur appears from behind and stabs him through the core. Slur prepares to attack the remaining trio, but Dark Rockman grabs onto them, using Salamander to engulf them both in flames. Dark Rockman nods to Rockman, who hesitantly tells Blues and Searchman they should escape. As the trio returns to the present day, Rockman thinks of Dark Rockman, revealing that as he was engulfed in the flames, he told Rockman to return to Netto. The data that was extracted from Rockman to create Dark Rockman returns to Rockman.
