Beast Out is when MegaMan.EXE absorbs a Cybeast, either Falzar or Gregar, to become Falzar/Gregar Beast MegaMan. These transformations appear in the games MegaMan Battle Network 6 Cybeast Falzar/Gregar, and the animes Rockman EXE Beast and Beast+.

  +
Beast Out is the result of MegaMan.EXE absorbing a Cybeast in Mega Man Battle Network 6, allowing him to become Gregar Beast or Falzar Beast, known as Glaga Beast and Falzer Beast in Japan.

MegaMan can also Cross Fuse (similar to Double Soul, but how long it lasts is determined differently) with Beast Out to form a Cross Beast. Both of these forms possess great might, and can be used effectively to easily delete bosses earlier in the game, and later as a strategic advantage for more formidable bosses.
+
MegaMan can also use the Cross System with Beast Out to form a Cross Cybeast, also known as Cross Beast . The fusion of these forms possess great might and can be used effectively to overpower foes through power and technique.

Overview
After Beast Out is introduced, it can be triggered by using the "Beast Button", located just below the "OK" button on the Custom Screen. A counter appears in MegaMan's emotion window - this shows how many turns his Beast Out will last if used. Battling without initiating Beast Out will refill the counter by 1, up to a maximum of 3.

During Beast Out, MegaMan gains several abilities, inclusive of a rapid-fire buster, and chips being auto-targeted so short-range chips become more useful. He can also charge non-elemental chips to unleash the Beast Out's special attack. When used with a Cross, this forms a Cross Beast, with the benefits given by the Cross and the Cross Beast having its own unique special attack. Beast Out can also utilize Full Synchro.

During Beast Out, MegaMan gains several abilities. He'll lose his normal shot and Charge Shot but gains a powerful new buster in its place. Non-dimming chips will also auto target enemies, making short-range chips efficient. He can also charge non-elemental chips to unleash the Beast Special Moves. When used with a Cross, this forms a Cross Beast, with the benefits given by the Cross and the Cross Beast having its own unique special attack. Beast Out is capable of utilizing Full Synchro, but Cross Beasts cannot do the same.

*As opposed to previous transformations that revolved on the idea of "put in the effort to fulfill the conditions to transform; only then will you become stronger", the concept of Beast Out was "you can unleash your full power at any time, but if you overdo it, there’ll be consequences" or "you need to manage your own excess power". They also wanted to have 2 different final bosses and MegaMan going wild during the final battle.
*When MegaMan.EXE fought Zero.EXE as Gregar Beast Out he did not have red eyes; this is because he used the Gregar Beast Out battle chip, which allows MegaMan to stay under control when Beasting Out.

  +
*The Japanese Rockman EXE6 manual contains terminology for Beast Out that is not used in-game or any extra game material after it. Mainly concerning how the "Jūka" kanji was supposed to be read differently as "Beast Form" instead of the final reading as "Beast Out". In the anime, "Jūka" is read as Beast Form.
*Ground Beast and Tengu Beast are the only 2 beast crosses from the same game (Mega Man and Bass) and ironically, are weak to each other's weapons (Tengu Man was weak to Ground Drill, which was Ground Man's weapon in Mega Man and Bass).

DoubleBeastCard

"Double Beast" Event Battle Chip.

Beast Out (獣化ビーストアウト[1] Bīsuto Auto) is the result of MegaMan.EXE absorbing a Cybeast in Mega Man Battle Network 6, allowing him to become Gregar Beast or Falzar Beast, known as Glaga Beast (グレイガビースト Gureiga Bīsuto) and Falzer Beast (ファルザービースト Faruzā Bīsuto) in Japan[2].

MegaMan can also use the Cross System with Beast Out to form a Cross Cybeast[3], also known as Cross Beast [4] (クロスビースト Kurosu Bīsuto). The fusion of these forms possess great might and can be used effectively to overpower foes through power and technique.

In the games

Overview

After Beast Out is introduced, it can be triggered by using the CybeastButton, known as Beast Button (ビーストボタン Bīsuto Botan) in Japan, located just below the "OK" button on the Custom Screen. An Emotion Counter, known as Heart Count (ココロカウント Kokoro Kaunto) in Japan, appears in MegaMan's Emotion Window - this shows how many turns his Beast Out will last if used. Battling without initiating Beast Out will refill the counter by 1, up to a maximum of 3.

GregarBeastOut

MegaMan as Gregar Beast Out.

Taking form of the Cybeast Gregar, MegaMan gains the following abilities:

  • The rapid firing Gregar Buster, known as Beast Buster (ビーストバスター Bīsuto Basutā) in Japan, replaces the Mega Buster. A buster that deals damage so fast, it can outperform some Battle Chips.
  • Super Armor, prevents MegaMan from flinching.
  • Non-elemental, non-dimming chips gain +30 damage.
  • When using a non-dimming chip, it will lock on to the enemy and MegaMan will warp for optimal range for the attack to land.
  • Beast Special Move: Chip charging a non-elemental chip will execute the Gregar Claw, known as Glaga Claw (グレイガクロー Gureiga Kurō) in Japan, a double claw slash that hits for 60 damage each, increasing by 10 damage for each increase in Buster attack.

Gregar Beast Out also gains access to the following Cross Beasts and their Cross Beast Special Move:

  • HeatBsEmo Heat Beast (ヒートビースト Hīto Bīsuto):
Chip Charge Shot becomes Great Fire (グレートファイア Gurēto Faia), that hits a panel ahead of MegaMan in addition to the next 2x3 area ahead of that for 80 fire damage, increasing by 30 damage for each increase in Buster rank.
  • ElecBsEmo Elec Beast (エレキビースト Ereki Bīsuto):
Chip charge attack becomes Big Thunder (ビッグサンダー Biggu Sandā), that hits a panel ahead of MegaMan in addition to the next 2x3 area ahead of that for 70 paralyzing elec damage, increasing by 30 damage for each increase in Buster rank. This attack also cracks the panels it hits.
  • Due to the Cross Beast Special Move, Elec Cross' charge non-dimming to paralyze no longer works.
  • SlashBsEmo Slash Beast (スラッシュビースト Surasshu Bīsuto):
Chip charge attack becomes Slash X (スラッシュエックス Surasshu Ekkusu), hitting in an X formation for 80 sword damage, increasing by 30 damage for each increase in Buster rank. If the locked-on enemy is in line with MegaMan, he will hit it for double damage, otherwise MegaMan will just move forward enough that the edge of the X hits the locked-on enemy.
  • KillerBsEmo Erase Beast (Killer Beast (キラービースト Kirā Bīsuto) in Japan):
Chip charge attack becomes Erase Tail Arrow, known as Killer Tail Arrow (キラーテイルアロー Kirā Teiru Arō) in Japan, hitting the locked-on enemy for 100 cursor damage, increasing by 30 damage for each increase in Buster rank. It induces HP bugs in the target, similar to Erase Cross's HP-Bug property.
  • ChargeBsEmo Charge Beast (チャージビースト Chāji Bīsuto):
Chip charge attack becomes Charge Bite (チャージバイト Chāji Baito), which first stuns all enemies before dealing 100 fire damage to the locked-on enemy, increasing by 30 damage for each increase in Buster rank.

FalzerBeastOut

MegaMan as Falzar Beast Out.

Taking form of the Cybeast Falzar, MegaMan gains the following abilities:

  • The spread firing Falzar Buster, known as Feather Shoot (フェザーシュート Fezā Shūto) in Japan, replaces the Mega Buster. Fire down his entire row along with covering two columns of two rows beside.
  • Air Shoes and Float Shoes, MegaMan is immune to panel types and can go over holes.
  • Non-elemental, non-dimming chips gain +30 damage.
  • When using a non-dimming chip, it will lock on to the enemy and MegaMan will warp for optimal range for the attack to land.
  • Beast Special Move: Chip charging a non-elemental chip will execute the Falzar Claw, known as Falzer Claw (ファルザークロー Faruzā Kurō), a double claw slash that hits for 60 damage each, increasing by 10 damage for each increase in Buster attack.

Falzar Beast Out also gains access to the following Cross Beasts and their Cross Beast Special Move:

  • AquaBsEmo Spout Beast (Aqua Beast (アクアビースト Akua Bīsuto) in Japan):
Chip Charge Shot becomes Aqua Spiral (アクアスパイラル Akua Supairaru), that hits the two panels ahead five times for 20 aqua damage each, increasing by 10 damage for each increase in Buster rank.
  • ThawkBsEmo Tomahawk Beast (トマホークビースト Tomahōku Bīsuto):
Chip Charge Shot becomes Wing Boomerang (ウイングブーメラン Uingu Būmeran), circumventing the perimeter of the battlefield for two hits of 70 wood damage each, increasing by 20 damage for each increase in Buster rank.
  • TenguBsEmo Tengu Beast (テングビースト Tengu Bīsuto):
Chip Charge Shot becomes Tengu Storm (テングストーム Tengu Sutōmu), that hits in a T-shape formation for 50 wind damage, increasing by 20 damage for each increase in Buster rank. This attack hits three times at the end column of the T.
  • GroundBsEmo Ground Beast (グランドビースト Gurando Bīsuto):
Chip Charge Shot becomes Drill Drive (ドリルドライブ Doriru Doraibu), hitting all enemies down the row twice for 110 breaking damage each, increasing by 20 damage for each increase in Buster rank. MegaMan is invincible during this attacks execution.
  • DustBsEmo Dust Beast (ダストビースト Dasuto Bīsuto):
Chip Charge Shot becomes Dust Shooting (ダストシューティング Dasuto Shūtingu), hitting six random panels in front of MegaMan for 100 breaking damage each, increasing by 20 damage for each increase in Buster rank. This attack also cracks the panels it hits. Also, MegaMan leaps into the air while executing this attack, so he can't be hit.

GBOverEmo Beast Over FBOverEmo

When a Beast Out or Cross Beast expires due to the emotion counter running out, MegaMan enters a "Tired" state. In this state, he cannot achieve Full Synchro at all (though he can still use Crosses). Attempting to initiate Beast Out a second time will instead trigger Beast Over (超獣化ビーストオーバー Bīsuto Ōbā)[5].

In this state, MegaMan becomes fully uncontrollable for the following turn, becoming invincible and randomly jumping about, firing the buster, using loaded chips, and non-dimming chips do double the attack power.

When the Custom Gauge fills, Beast Over immediately expires, forcing MegaMan into an "Very Tired" state, where his Buster stats are reduced to 1 each, receives an HP bug which rapidly removes health at a quickened pace (to the point where MegaMan can have 1 HP before the custom bar can fill the following turn), and cannot enter any other emotional states. Note that Beast Over cannot be initiated if MegaMan enters a battle in the Tired state.

As Bosses

Main articles: GBeast and FBeast

In the later part of Mega Man Battle Network 6, MegaMan becomes loose in his beast form and Lan must use a Link Navi to fight them. As a boss, Beast Out MegaMan gains a plethora of moves that are based on his Cross Beast forms. They appear again in the postgame, where Bass summons a copy to fight MegaMan. They can then be refought as a ghost in Underground 1 in the English version or Graveyard 1 in the Japanese version.

Rockman EXE Beast and Beast+

In the anime, Beast Out is mainly known as Beast Form[6] (獣化因子 Jūka).

Beast Factor

Beast Form Factor (獣化因子 Jūka Inshi) is a phenomenon from Beyondard in Rockman EXE Beast that can turn viruses and NetNavis into insane zealous followers of Glaga or Falzer, losing their will and existing only to serve their Cyber Beast masters. The Beyondard Tadashi Hikari created Trill as an antibody to the Beast Factor.

Beast Viruses

A Beast Tranformed Virus (獣化ウィルス Jūka Wirusu) is a virus affected by the Beast Factor, making it look like a beast. Several Beast Viruses are part of the Glaga and Falzer armies.

Zoanoroids

Main article: Zoanoroid

Zoanoroid (ゾアノロイド Zoanoroido) is a NetNavi that was corrupted by the Beast Factor, which made them abandon and hate their operators and all of humanity and become loyal to one of the Cyber Beasts. They have the Beast Form ability.

Rockman

BeastOutAnime

"Beast Form C.F. Rockman" in Rockman EXE Beast.

In Rockman EXE Beast, Rockman's Beast Out can only be triggered when he is in a dangerous situation while Trill is around. The beast transformation cannot be controlled, sending Rockman on a rampage, attacking both friend and foe until the transformation is forcefully canceled or calmed by Iris. Also, with help from Trill, Rockman and Netto (performing Cross Fusion to defeat Wily) can combine both Beast Outs to form an invincible Cross Fusion with the powers of both Cyber Beasts. The official name of this form is "Beast Form Cross Fusion Rockman" (獣化クロスフュージョンロックマン Jūka Kurosu Fyūjon Rokkuman).[7]

In Rockman EXE Beast+, Rockman can utilize Beast Form through Beast Form chips, and in this state he can control the transformation. Unlike Beast, Rockman's eyes are not red as he has control over the transformations in Beast+.

MegaMan NT Warrior (manga)

After losing Bass Cross MegaMan and Bass being captured by the Nebula Gray/CosmoMan fusion, MegaMan becomes desperate. He splits his consciousness, where it then scours the cyberworld for new power. He encounters a cyber jungle in which he discovers Gregar and obtains the power of Beast Out (Gregar Beast). Nebula Gray was easily defeated with the new strength. MegaMan continues to use Beast Out afterwards, losing control every time. But with the cooperation of Lan, Full Synchro, and the new Link PET_EX, they're eventually able to tame the power.

Continuing to use it throughout the story, he later encounters Cybeast Falzar. They both duke it out but is interrupted by Bass, who absorbs Falzar for his own to become Beast Out Bass with Falzar Beast power.

MegaMan

Super Beast Out MegaMan.

The shadows of Gregar and Falzar merge to become a fusion of the two and enters the real world, turning everything into data rubble. MegaMan claims the Legendary Program from Iris to become Super Beast Out MegaMan, known as Super Beast Out Rockman (ちょう獣化ビーストオーバー Chō-Bīsuto Auto) in Japan. Him and Beast Out Bass fight the fused Cybeast until Bass gives his remaining power to have MegaMan land the final strike. The real world is restored but MegaMan becomes separated from Lan, where him and Bass are transported to a distant land.

In the epilogue chapter "MegaMan VS ProtoMan", they use a slew of techniques on each other. One of MegaMan reveals to be an attack where he can materialize a Gregar Beast arm to pierce through ProtoMan.

Trivia

  • As opposed to previous transformations that revolved on the idea of "put in the effort to fulfill the conditions to transform; only then will you become stronger", the concept of Beast Out was "you can unleash your full power at any time, but if you overdo it, there’ll be consequences" or "you need to manage your own excess power". They also wanted to have 2 different final bosses and MegaMan going wild during the final battle[8].
  • The Japanese Rockman EXE6 manual contains terminology for Beast Out that is not used in-game or any extra game material after it. Mainly concerning how the "Jūka" kanji was supposed to be read differently as "Beast Form" (獣化じゅうか Jūka) instead of the final reading as "Beast Out" (獣化ビーストアウト Bīsuto Auto). In the anime, "Jūka" is read as Beast Form.
    • The mechanic was called "Beast Form System" (獣化じゅうかシステム Jūka Shisutemu).
    • The button to use it was called "Beast Transformation Button" (獣化じゅうかボタン Jūka Botan).
    • The "Chō-jūka" kanji was supposed to be read as "Super Beast Form" (Beast Over) (超獣化ちょうじゅうか (ビーストオーバー) Chō-jūka (Bīsuto Ōbā)).
  • Using the Beast Link Gate on Rockman EXE6, Rockman can stay in Beast Out eternally. However, he loses access to his base form and non-Beast Crosses entirely. Fighting this state in multiplayer matches will display the names "GBeast" (Gビースト) or "FBeast" (Fビースト) instead of the usual "Rockman" (ロックマン).
  • Like the Crosses, Cross Beast designs are also only different from the waist up.
  • When Gregar Cross Beasts have their buster attack at 5, all of them except for Elec Beast have the potential to do 200 damage or more. Meaning they can take out Life Aura by pure power.
  • Thanks to Tengu Cross and Falzar Beast, Falzar players have two forms with Air Shoes as an out if they are ever trapped by holes. Gregar players lack any forms that do, so they are sitting duck unless they planned beforehand.
  • As Beast Over's invincibility lasts for an entire turn, multiplayer matches can use this to stall in the final 15th turn until the Damage Judge Counter plays.
