Central Museum (セントラルミュージアム Sentoraru Myūjiamu) is Ground Scaravich's stage in Mega Man X6. It is an abandoned (yet pristine) museum that, according to the Stage Select Screen, is located around what vaguely appears to be Queensland, Australia.

Description[]

X6 CentralMuseum preview

Among other things, the museum has images of dinosaurs, sea life, ancient Egyptian structures and of the Earth. Visitors were instructed to remain quiet and follow their given route, according to signs at the beginning of the museum.

The stage seems straightforward, consisting of several straight halls, but each has a blue Totem Gate that will transport the player to a random sub-area. Once the sub-area is completed, they will be brought back to the hall and must destroy the Totem Gate to progress. There are a total of four Totem Gates to pass through before reaching the boss.

There are eight areas that the Totem Gates can send the player. There are two horizontal hallways (one with pits, another with spikes), a vertical climb with platforms, a vertical descent with ramps, two sloped areas (one ascending, the other descending), an area with ladders plus the Another Route gate, and a rectangular area with the Light Capsule. After completing one area, it will not repeat in the remaining Totem Gates. As the areas are determined upon entering the stage, dying does not reshuffle the areas, though they may have slightly different placements of blocks and spike traps.

The Nightmare Phenomena that may affect this stage are Nightmare Iron and Nightmare Wind. The phenomenon that this stage activates in others is Nightmare Cube.

The Another Route portal is located in the Totem Gate area with ladders. It transports the player to a similar room, but with a set layout.
