Chaos Devil

The Chaos Devil was a variant of the Devil line that was created by Doctors Eggman and Wily in the crossover Worlds Collide. Its basic design was indicative of the Devil line, but it incorporated elements of the God of Destruction Chaos from Eggman's dimension.

It first appeared in Sonic Universe #53, were it was released by Rouge the Bat when she was discovered inside the Wily Egg. Incapable of differentiating friend from foe when unleashed, it made short work of her, Bass, and Metal Sonic before Eggman appeared and commanded it to stop. As it obeyed, Eggman and Wily are satisfied to see that the Chaos Devil works.

The Chaos Devil battles Duo.

The Chaos Devil later encountered Sonic and Mega Man in Mega Man #27. After their attacks failed to work on defeating its eye, they tried to do a similar combo to the one they used to restore Tails Man to Miles "Tails" Prower, but it only resulted in Sonic getting stuck inside the Chaos Devil. It eventually was dissipated by Duo's arrival. Duo then proceeded to hold it off while Sonic and Mega Man tried to stop Eggman and Wily, and sensed that it had mental and emotional conflict in itself, due to it incorporating both a noble creature and an evil demon inside it. Eventually, the Chaos Devil was defeated by Duo, and reformatted itself into Chaos' 0 Form.

The creation of the Chaos Devil was claimed by Eggman to be a highly difficult process by which a Devil Core, presumably the mechanical eye that serves as the Devil Series control unit and weak point, was plugged into 'living water'.

Trivia

• Despite the appearance on the cover of Sonic Universe #53, Chaos Devil does not actually encounter Sonic and Mega Man until two issues later.
• The fist that Chaos Devil throws during his fight with Duo resembles the Perfect Chaos' head.
