Colonel Barrel (バレル大佐 Bareru Taisa) is the 50th episode of Rockman.EXE Stream. It aired on September 17, 2005 in Japan.[1]
Plot[]
Duo's comet has activated a program to destroy the Earth. To stop it, 13 of Duo's crests must be collected. However, Barrel is already dead, so it is impossible to retrieve them. Netto and Enzan visit the apartment where Barrel used to live, hoping to find a clue to Barrel's crest. In that room, they meet Dr. Wily. Wily talks about the events of the past. Barrel is willing to risk his life to fly to the present day where Netto and the others are, for the sake of the future.[1]
Summary[]
Yuichiro invites the remaining Cross Fusion Members to the Space-Time Tower. However, they’re worried as in their current time Barrel is dead, but without his crest they can’t access Duo’s comet. Dr Wily stands at Barrel’s grave, talking to it as if he were talking to Barrel. He mentions that it’s time and he’ll meet him at their agreed location. Meiru and Nenji are escorted by Meijin on a helicopter. Misaki meets with Mariko to discuss where Yuriko is. Mariko gives Misaki a letter where Yuriko promises to turn herself in to the Net Police for her previous crimes once the threat of Duo is gone. Yuriko meets with Dark Miyabi and they make their way to meet with the others. Dingo stands with Shanka in their village, looking at Totem-Sama and promising to keep their village safe. Jasmine talks with Cardamom about what’s going to happen and he reassures her there’s no set future. Charlie tries to convince Tesla they need to go to Ameroppa, but she’s content with letting the world be destroyed. Charlie gets tired of her uncooperation and picks her up, carrying her to his helicopter and the two fly away. Pride is escorted on a plane with Raika where he informs her the Ameroppan army doesn’t have Barrel’s crest data. Enzan and Netto go to Barrel’s apartment to look for any data.
On the drive to Barrel’s apartment, Netto and Enzan are ambushed by Asteroid Navis. Enzan plugs Blues into the car’s system so he can drive through them. The two arrive at Barrel’s apartment where they’re shocked to find Wily. Wily explains that to distribute Duo’s crests, Duo scattered light across the globe. One of these came through the Past-Tunnel and chose Barrel 20 years in the past. At Barrel’s request, Wily designed a plug-in system for the Space-Time server to allows Colonel to travel through time. Wily tells the two that Barrel will come to their era to assist the fight against Duo and gives them Barrel’s PET. Wily jumps out the window and escapes. 20 years in the past, Barrel flies with Wily, who warns him of the risks of going through the Space-Time distortion. The two arrive at a location the army had shut down, preparing to send Barrel through the future. Barrel communicates with the current day Space-Time Tower where he informs them he’s going to come to the future. Yuichiro warns him of the risk, but Barrel intends to go through with it, turning his body into data to make it through. Using Barrel’s PET, they make a beacon for Barrel to make it through to the current time.
Asteroid Navis continue to terrorize the cities of Ameroppa. Hunter, using his Battle Chip Gate, travels around the cities to delete them. Dr Regal appears around a group of Asteroid Navis and steals them. Armies of Asteroid Navis approach the Space-Time Tower as Charlie, Tesla, Miyabi, and Yuriko arrive. Everyone Cross Fuses, protecting the tower as Barrel is being transferred. The transfer is successful and Barrel is brought to the present time where he’s greeted by Wily. Wily gives Barrel a Synchro Chip so he may join the fight. The Cross Fusion Members work together to fight against the Asteroid army. Slur grins as Barrel’s arrival means the destruction of Earth can begin. However, Forte returns for revenge after Slur had sent him to the Ura NetEarth Erasure with newfound strength.
