- "His potential... is limitless?! ...not possible."
- ―Cyber Peacock, Mega Man X4
Cyber Peacock, known as Cyber Kujacker (サイバー・クジャッカー) in Japan, is a digitized peacock-based Maverick in Mega Man X4. He is a vicious security Reploid who terrorizes anyone who accesses his network.
Characteristics[]
Cyber Peacock was outfitted with armor primarily blue in color, with purple and yellow highlights. He had round, blue glass pads on his knees, chest, shoulders and both of his wrists. Peacock also had nine green feathers attached to his back, which he put to use in combat as missiles.
Peacock was an elegant Reploid who was primarily focused on the mission given to him - testing the abilities of the Maverick Hunters X and Zero, going so far as to create a series of deadly traps in Cyber Space to examine their abilities. Despite being an enemy, Peacock was willing to recognize the Hunters' skills and admit their strong potential. Peacock was also very self-confident, declaring that he would not lose to Zero.
In the Japanese version, Peacock spoke like an effeminate gay man. He ended some of his phrases with "わね" (wa ne) and "わよ" (wa yo), both of which are feminine ending structures used by women to express exclamation or confirmation. Furthermore, Peacock addressed himself with the pronoun "あたし" (atashi) which is an exclusively feminine way of referring to oneself. He shouts "ひどいわ!!" (Hidoi wa!!, How cruel!!) when hit with his weakness, pronouncing "wa" with a rising intonation that marks it as feminine.
Peacock retains his effeminate mannerisms in the manga version, while having more of a petty streak. He repeatedly taunts Zero over the fact that the Hunter cannot remember a significant portion of his past and says Zero isn't good at making friends due to his pushy nature. Peacock is easily irritated, getting mad when Zero temporarily stops responding to him. Peacock was also so adamant about refusing to be killed alone that he performed a suicide attack to try and take Zero with him.
History[]
Cyber Peacock was originally an AI that functioned as a protection program designed to stop hackers from infiltrating important computer systems. However, Sigma has rewritten his program to make him arrogant and vicious, making him indiscriminately attack anyone accessing the network.
Besides acting as a diversion to the Maverick Hunters, Peacock was given the task of testing X and Zero's abilities, putting them through a series of trials in Cyber Space.
Strategy[]
In battle, Cyber Peacock will constantly teleport to the player's exact position and attempt to damage them via contact. If he isn't immediately attacked properly, Peacock will use one of two physical attacks. After taking damage at least once, he will also lock on and fire homing feather missiles.
Cyber Peacock's weakness for X is Soul Body and his weakness for Zero is Ryuenjin, both of which cause him to static out and teleport away. This can be used to easily lock him into a behavior loop.

Rockman X4 manga[]
In the manga, Peacock catches the attention of Zero after infecting a local network with his presence and filling it with technical bugs. Iris had been using this network as part of her work as a nurse to help those injured in the ongoing war between Repliforce and the Maverick Hunters, and as such was able to help save Zero's life. Peacock has not only corrupted the network, but has petrified one of Iris's soldiers Murada by turning his body into a round block. To repay the debt he owed to Iris, Zero offers to have his own A.I. sent virtually into the network and into a free-moving simulator body in order to rid the network of the bugs and the malicious presence infecting it. After destroying many of the bugs in the virtual network, Peacock uses his powers to make Zero hallucinate and relive past memories, particularly memories he had forgotten, of his past as a Maverick.
Peacock finally appears after Zero asks him to come out. Peacock asks if he wants to stay and be his friend, but Zero retorts he was never good at making friends and attacks Peacock. Peacock easily evades and gets the upper hand in the fight, all the while mocking Zero for having memories he has forgotten. Peacock, however, is angered when Zero stays silent and refuses to listen to his taunting anymore, and fires his Tracking Shot feathers at him. Zero easily destroys every one, and confidently says he doesn't need to worry about a forgotten past, nor an unforeseen future, only the present. Zero then slashes Peacock, injuring him greatly. Peacock then vows that he won't let Zero leave the Cyber Space and does a "suicide bomb" attack, erasing himself and then spreading the erasure to the entire network in an attempt to permanently trap Zero in the virtual world. However, Zero is able to escape just in the nick of time.
Unfortunately for Iris, Peacock's suicide attack also affected the computer screen from where she was monitoring Zero's activities in the real world too, making it explode right next to her, infecting her with the bug and seriously wounding her which put her into a coma.
Archie Comics[]
Cyber Peacock is revived by Sigma-1 to serve as part of his Maverick army in the Worlds Unite crossover event. Following an attack on the Sky Patrol and its crew of Maverick Hunters, Freedom Fighters, and Robot Masters, he joined his fellows in scattering to various worlds to plant Unity Engines.

Etymology[]
Cyber Peacock's Japanese name "Kujacker" (クジャッカー Kujakkā) is a portmanteau of Kujaku (孔雀 "peacock"), and Hijacker (ハイジャッカー Haijakkā).
Trivia[]
- Cyber Peacock is the only boss in Mega Man X4 that lacks the usual few seconds of invincibility after he's taken damage. Although, in the Legacy Collection version of X4, even though he lacks the invincibility animation, he nevertheless will still be invincible for a few seconds after incurring injury. He will flash when hit repeatedly as if he is taking damage, but only the first hit will register and the others won't until more seconds pass.
- In the Japanese version of the game, Peacock speaks in an overly feminine manner. One example is his saying "Iku wa yo!" at the start of the battle (meaning "Here I come!"), which is the feminine way of saying it, as opposed to "Iku zo!", which also means "Here I come" but is the masculine way.
- Cyber Peacock is the only Maverick in the English release of Mega Man X4 not to have any in-battle quotes or grunts; he says "Hidoi wa!!" (酷いわ!! "How cruel!!", usually spoken by women) when injured by the Soul Body or Ryuenjin in the Japanese version.
- Cyber Peacock is one of two bosses in the Mega Man X series, the other being Volt Kraken, who used an effeminate manner of speech in the Japanese version.
