Dachone (ダチョーン Dachōn), named Scout Walker in the Game Gear Mega Man manual, is a walking robot enemy from Mega Man 5 created by Dr. Wily, though due to the high costs of them, there are only a limited number of them in his army. It shoots four lasers at a time in different directions, and can only receive damage in its camera eye. Because of this, it is very difficult to destroy. Dachone appears in Star Man's stage, the first stage in Proto Man's Castle, and the final stage in Wily Castle.
Dachones also appeared in Star Man's stage in the Gear Gear Mega Man, where the player must defeat them to proceed.

Dachone Ltd. Ed.[]
Dachone Ltd. Ed. (ダチョーンアマリザイコ Dachōn Amarizaiko) is a low cost limited edition variant of Dachone that appears in the first high road of Yamato Man's stage in Mega Man 6, with there being only one in the entire game. To reduce costs, Dr. Wily replaced the laser from the original version by energy shots that cause less damage, and it can receive damage at any part of the body, but it can walk faster and shoots in Mega Man's direction.

Etymology[]
Dachone's name is derived from "dachou (ダチョウ)", which is Japanese for ostrich. Moreover, the Amarizaiko from the limited edition can be written in kanji as "余り在庫", which means surplus stock.
