A dark area in Mega Man & Bass

Darkness is a gimmick that reduces the visibility of an area. It can come from certain objects, or it can be caused by defeating certain enemies.

- Mega Man 2 - Quick Man's stage, in the area with Changkey Makers.
- Mega Man 3 - Shadow Man's stage, caused by Hologran.
- Mega Man 4 - Bright Man's stage, caused if a 100 Watton is destroyed.
- Mega Man 7 - Wily Castle Stage 1, caused whenever the gray metallic platforms and the lifts are stepped in.
- Mega Man 8 - Sword Man's stage, in the puzzle section around the Flash Bomb.
- Mega Man & Bass - Dynamo Man's stage. Can be lit for a limited amount of time with Wave Burner.
- Mega Man 11 - Torch Man's stage; if the Lamper is defeated. Use Scramble Thunder to switch light on for a limited amount of time.
- Mega Man X6 - Can be caused by Nightmare Dark in Commander Yammark's stage and Rainy Turtloid's stage. Is activated after defeating Infinity Mijinion.
- Mega Man X8 - Dark Mantis's stage. Axl can light the area.
- Mega Man ZX - Area I has a dark area where the player can only see the surroundings. Model PX makes it easier to pass this area as the form has a Night Scope that gives a wider view of the surroundings and a Radar Scope that shows the layout of the area.
- Mega Man ZX Advent - The Biometal Model A Mega Man passes by a small dark area in Legion HQ after copying Siarnaq (Model P), being a tutorial for his form. A dark area is also present in the Quarry. Like Mega Man ZX, Model P's Night Scope and Radar Scope makes navigating dark areas easier.
- Mega Man Battle Network 3 - Mystery Data can't be seen in the Principal's PC from ACDC Elementary School during FlashMan's invasion.
