Data is a cute robot monkey friend of Mega Man Volnutt that was found by his side by Barrell Caskett. Mega Man seems to be the only one who understands him. Data is mysterious and always appears when he is needed. All of Mega Man's memories of Elysium and of The Master were downloaded into Data so that no one else could tamper with them. In Mega Man Legends 2, most of the information that was stored in Data is revealed in a long cut scene that explains the plot line. At the end of Legends 2, he somehow manages to return to Earth to instruct Roll and Tron on how to built a rocket to retrieve MegaMan, but their bickering causes them to ignore, leaving Data to lament on MegaMan being stuck there "for a little while longer".

Trivia

Data is always seen doing a dance called "The Monkey", so either he really likes dancing or really likes puns. Many fans joke around of him having a cup for a body. He can be annoying at times (eg. when Mega Man Volnutt is trying to steer the Flutter) but he seems to help a lot too. He really helps out at the end of Mega Man Legends as he stops Eden from destroying the people of Kattelox Island, making it the first time he talked in the series. From early part 2, Data starts a fire and it's Triggers's first mission to put out the fire. He needs to be quick though, as the Flutter will take damage and poor Data will be on fire.
