Deep-Sea Submarine Stage (深海潜水艦ステージ Shinkai Sensuikan Sutēji)[1] is Tidal Whale's stage in Mega Man X5. It is an underwater historical site located in the North Atlantic Ocean.
Description[]
The stage is a prolonged underwater fight against the battle submarine U-555. It is mostly an auto-scroller, with various parts of U-555 such as its head, tail, or back pushing the screen along. During this time, the player is free to attack U-555 to stop its laser attacks or weaken it - then, at certain moments a health bar will appear and the player will have to fight U-555 before it continues moving. There is also a brief sunken ship segment in the middle of the level, wherein the stage is no longer underwater. After finally disposing of U-555 for good (the third sub-boss fight against it), access is granted to Tidal Whale's arena.

Trivia[]
- Deep-Sea Submarine Stage's music is a remastered version of Bubble Crab's Deep-Sea Base Stage from Mega Man X2; another song was originally intended for the stage, but it was scrapped. This beta track was included as "Unused Track "Deep Sea"" on Capcom Music Generation - Rockman X1~6.
