Dex's House (デカオの家 Dekao no Ie, Dekao's House in Japan) is the home of Dex Oyama in the Mega Man Battle Network series, located near the Metroline station in ACDC Town. In most appearances the house is yellow and is set some distance in front of Lan's house. From Mega Man Battle Network 4 onward the house's appearance changed and is set behind Lan's house.

Real world[]

Dex's Room[]

Dex's Room (デカオのへや Dekao no Heya) is the only area from Dex's house available, a Japanese style room. There is a table on the corner with Dex's old PC, which can be used as a jack in point to the cyberworld. The room also has a smaller table, a closet, and a cabinet with an old TV. In most games the shelf has a picture on its side and a game console connected to the TV. The room is messy, having several games, magazines (including comic books, gaming magazines, and adult magazines, the latter being present only in the first game), and snacks scattered around, alongside a few boxes and study materials, including a few hidden tests with low grades. Other contents from the room change depending of the game:

Like the house's exterior, the design of the room changed in Mega Man Battle Network 4 and 5, but except for the different visual and placement, most elements are still present. The TV is now on the cabinet, and the mat was removed. The room now has tatami flooring and an air conditioner, and other elements change depending of the game:

  • In Mega Man Battle Network 4 Dex gained an interest on shogi, having a shogi board on the table in the Blue Moon version. The table has lots of snacks in the Red Sun version. Hanging on the wall is a paper block (possibly a calendar) with a "7" in the Blue Moon version and a dartboard in the Red Sun version. The room has an old console (Super Famicom in Blue Moon, New-Style NES in Red Sun) connected to the TV, a GameCube (bland gray in Blue Moon, yellow like GutsMan in Red Sun) with a jack in port next to the old console, a picture (Roll in Blue Moon, GutsMan in Red Sun) on the cabinet, and a decoration above the TV (a lattice tower in Blue Moon, a big shogi piece in Red Sun).
  • In Mega Man Battle Network 5 the cabinet lacks a space for a picture on its side. Instead, a poster of GutsMan is set on the closet's door, having a different pose in each version. The cabinet has a bonsai in the Team Colonel version and a maneki-neko in the Team ProtoMan version. There is a desk next to the computer table, which has a large video game strategy guide in the Team ProtoMan version and an unfinished model (alongside paints for it, Dex planning to paint it after finishing) in the Team Colonel version. A GameCube (Hanshin Tigers limited edition in Team ProtoMan, common gray in Team Colonel) is connected to the TV, and there is a baseball ball, a bat, and a glove near it. A Game Boy Advance SP is on the table.
