Elec Man Stage (エレキマンステージ) is an electric-themed stage that has Elec Man as its boss. It appears in the first Mega Man, its remake Mega Man Powered Up, and Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge. While its exact location(s) is unknown, it is usually assumed to be a power plant that Elec Man was working on before being reprogrammed by Dr. Wily, as Elec Man was originally created by Dr. Light to control the voltage of nuclear power plants.

Appearances[]

Mega Man[]

Elec Man's stage appears to take place inside a tall electrical tower. It is primarily a vertical stage and features a lot of ladder climbing, but this also means players can fall down and lose a lot of progress. As such, it can be a tricky stage to get through without taking damage. The stage also has some split paths later on, which have converging points blocked off by Guts Blocks. Unique to this stage are blocks that generate electricity sideways in a set pattern, acting as a simple timing challenge that get more difficult when they guard ladders. They also appear in the boss hallway, which is the only one that goes upwards and happens to be brighter than the rest of the stage. There are also some Appearing Blocks in the two rooms after the first sets of Watchers.

Valuable pickups to look out for:

  • Magnet Beam: The game's utility, which can only be found in this stage. Although it looks optional, it is MANDATORY to beat the game. Being blocked off by Guts Blocks, the player has to use Super Arm (or Thunder Beam if they revisit the stage) to clear out the blocks and get this pickup.

Mega Man Powered Up[]

Elec Man's stage is similar to the original in Old Style. In New Style, Elec Man's stage was modified, having different enemies and one section that can only be accessed by Time Man.

In Construction mode, the Scenery Packs Elec Starter, Elec Extra, and Old Elec are based on Elec Man's stage.

Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge[]

Elec Man stage appears to take place in a tall electrical tower, and is still primarily vertical. The electricity blocks return from the first game, and although the electricity fired is slightly shorter, it can be aimed vertically as well. Appearing Blocks appear here as well, though they are shorter than in the NES stage. However, they appear more frequently across the stage, especially the early rooms. There are also fans that constantly blows wind in one direction, though the wind is only limited to the tunnel vision right in front of the fan.

Other media[]

Mega Man (Archie Comics)[]

In Issue 3 of the Archie Comics Mega Man series, Elec Man, having been reprogrammed by Dr. Wily, took over a power plant. However, despite his best efforts, including using the electric shocks of the plant to destroy Mega Man, Elec Man was dispatched easily by the Rolling Cutter. The background in the main control room is highly similar to the design of his stage in Mega Man Powered Up.
