Top Man's Stage is a stage debuting in Mega Man 3 that has Top Man as the boss. The stage also appears in Mega Man II.

Appearances[]

Mega Man 3[]

Top Man's Stage takes place within a glass-covered greenhouse at daylight, with flashing sport lights in the background. The stage was designed to be a simple area for beginner players to practice the basics of the game. There is a primary focus on enemy combat across the stage, but the stage is generous with health pickups in between these encounters. The stage's only gimmick is at the very end after the last Top Fiend. There are spinning top platforms unique to this stage that move in one direction, coming from above and below the screen. The player has to platform across them over a large pit, but the spinning also makes a standing player move left and right constantly, making jumps a bit more challenging.

Valuable pickups to look out for:

  • 1UP10A 1-UP: Found in the Pickelman Bull room, on a higher platform along with a big health pickup. However, a Pickelman Bull guards the left side, which is the only way in to access the pickups. Use Rush Coil/Jet to get up on that platform.

Mega Man II[]

Top Man's Stage in the GB demake still take place in the glass greenhouse and retains many elements from the NES stage. There is one section that is flooded with water, and Appearing Blocks carry the player over a pit. However, Rush Marine can be used to ignore the challenge. The spinning top platforms return in the final room and are unique to this stage.

Valuable pickups to look out for:

  • GB1UP 1-UP: After the 2 Pickleman Bulls, requires Rush to reach it.
  • ETankGB E-Tank: Shortly after the second Tama, and is guarded by a Top Fiend who sits above it. However, because of the level layout, the second Tama can simply be ignored, as both paths out of the room still allow the player to get to it, usually by having to defeat the Top Fiend.
