REX-2000, piloted by Mad Joey, is the mid-boss of the first Doppler Stage in Mega Man X3. It is a Ride Armor based on the Mechaniloid D-Rex.[1][2]
REX-2000 attacks by firing shots and small homing missiles at X. The room it appears has a spiked ceiling that is slowly descending. If the player takes too long to destroy the mid-boss, the ceiling will eventually destroy it, first taking the pilot, making the machine stop, then REX-2000 itself.
If Zero is well, he will appear in the beginning of the battle and tries to stop the descending ceiling, stopping it after REX-2000 is destroyed. If Zero is out of action, a ceiling switch at the end of the room will impose a "time limit" for X, blocking his path and making the ceiling reach him unless it is destroyed. The switch's weak point is Triad Thunder.

REX-2000 appeared as a mid-boss in Mega Man X DiVE, and the pilot is a common enemy in the game.
REX-2000(HANABI)[]
- "Well, Playa! Missy! Lock yer eyes on me now! This is my mission! My final task! The beautiful flower that blooms in the night of the sunmmer sky as the finale of this celebration!"
- —REX-2000(HANABI) before he explodes
REX-2000(HANABI), known as MIKOSHI-710 in Japan, is a variation that appeared as the boss of the Mid-Summer Matsuri event stage "Fireworks and Lantern Festival" from Mega Man X DiVE.
The Mad Joey pilot of this variant wears a "Tengu" mask and speaks in Kansai dialect in the Japanese version. He claims that he is destined to perform the great firework for the Matsuri event. "Hanabi" (はなび / 花火) means "Fireworks" in Japanese, while "Mikoshi" is a sacred religious palanquin in Japanese culture.
Tigrex[]
An unnamed version of REX-2000 appeared as the mid-boss of the event stage in the second Monster Hunter Rise collaboration, "Urgent! Support needed at Shrine Ruins". Its data was mixed with the data from a Tigrex, increasing its speed and giving it a new attack: from time to time, REX-2000 will go to a corner and, doing a thunderous roar, charge forward; the roar leaves the player confused, and the lunge can be lethal on the highest difficulties. It can only be avoided by using a Wirebug that appears in the center of the area during the attack. It is completely autonomous, without Mad Joey piloting it.
As REX-2000 is a Ride Armor, its Tigrex variant can be piloted by the player after it is defeated in the 2022 Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak event stage, "Tremble under the King of the Blood Moon!", as a reproduction of the Wyvern Riding gameplay in which use Wirebugs to control a monster in Monster Hunter Rise. As a Ride Armor, it moves fast, but its jump is weak. Its main attack is charging forward, while its skills are a roar and a missile. It can be riden up to the battle against Mettaur Gigant Volvidon.
