I've been contributing to this Wiki for a little while now, but I'm also an admin on WikiKnowledge and a regular contributor to both Wikipedia and Strategy Wiki. As such, I've written several Mega Man related articles that I thought could be "trans-wiki'd" over here, such as: Mega Man, Mega Man 2, Rockman & Forte: Challenger from the Future, and Mega Man Time Line. These go a bit more in-depth than our current articles related to these and the "time line" article took a lot of work by myself to create (and with some contribution from other MM fans). That's not the case... Actually, it's a release, under the license. Once you submit it you don't own it. One of the biggest issues on a wiki is people thinking that they own what they wrote. But the fact that it's released is what allows us using the GFDL to copy things. We can either user an Export/Import for the pages which we don't already have. In times like these I like to look back at the quote "Don't reinvent the Wheel, unless it needs reinventing.". Free encyclopedias are just that, free... Free to read, free to write, and free to copy. When you contribute to one you're doing it with the intent that other people are going to read it, they're going to modify it to make it better, and they may even copy it to another place. The entire reason wiki are licensed under the GFDL is so that people are allowed to legally copy entire articles anywhere. Copying content from other wiki is the best way to start content. Why waste your time redoing something that someone else has already done for you, with the intent that you'll use it, when you could instead take that content that they intended and use that time you would have spent wasting time redoing something and instead make that content even better. ~Dantman^(talk) May 18, 2007 _@ 15:19 ^(UTC)
