Does it ever say a city or anything?

For which series? In most series, it's through the world.
In the original series, Dr. Light's laboratory is located in USA, so most of the story takes place there, but the stages are at unknown locations, except that Dr. Cossack lives in Russia and the Mega Man 8 bosses has a approximate location shown in a map.
Other locations include Abel City from The Day of Σ, Neo Arcadia from the Zero series, Kattelox Island from the first Mega Man Legends, and most locations from the MegaMan Battle Network series are named... --Quick 02:13, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

The first Megaman game's manuel said the city it was in was "Monstropolis". Awsgames 23:05, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

This is a good question. In fact, the events of the games take place all over the world. Yes, Dr. Light is supposed to have his lab at some "Mid-Western Town" in the US, but according to the Japanese story he would live in Japan. A lot of the earlier games involve the robots "attacking the city," but then you have games like Mega Man 8 where the Robot Masters are located all over the world (each stage is in a different country), much like Rockman Strategy has bosses in various parts of the world.
Rockman and Forte: Challenger From the Future takes place in "Symphony City," "Abel" city from the X series, according to one sourcebook I've read, is apparently in Australia, and the ZX series takes place in the "nation" of "Inner Peace." --Brahman 01:02, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
