Friender (フレンダー Furendā), also known as Hot Dog in the Mega Man 2 instruction manual for the U.S., is a blue robot dog mini-boss that spits fire. It was originally created to protect forests, but the fire extinguishing fluid from its tail was removed. It appears in Wood Man's stage in Mega Man 2 and Mega Man II, and the second Wily Tower stage in Mega Man: The Wily Wars.

Petit Friender (プチフレンダー Puchi Furendā) is a smaller version of the Hot Dog that appears in episode 1 of Super Adventure Rockman.

Hot Dog from Captain N: The Game Master
- Friender (Hot Dog) may be based on the blue dog from the anime Casshan (Casshern), which is also called Friender and can spit fire. The Velguarder and Karumuna Bash also bears resemblance to him. Rush may also be related to this Friender, as both can turn into a transport for the main character.
- Friender makes a cameo in the first stage (museum) of Mega Man & Bass.
- Friender appears in the 20th episode of the cartoon Captain N: The Game Master, where he resembles a bulldog.
- In Mega Man Legends, there are three dog Reaverbot bosses called the Karumuna Bash which are very similar to the three Hot Dogs in Wood Man's stage.
- In Mega Man Network Transmission, there are several Spikey Viruses, which act similarly to these robots. In Mega Man Battle Network and its sequels, they just shoot fireballs.
