Gale Attack (烈風撃, Reppuugeki) is an EX Skill for the Z-Saber from Mega Man Zero 3. Zero can only learn this attack if Tretista Kelverian is defeated at A or S rank. This attack does the full damage of Sengatotsu and strikes three times, effectively doing three times the damage, which can be extremely powerful.

Use in combat[]

Gale Attack is non-elemental, so it can be used to its fullest while reaping the benefits of other elemental chips.

It can be used against pretty much any grounded enemy to extreme benefit because it does 12 damage per hit for 3 hits, potentially effectively doing 36 damage. For comparison, a saber strike does 8 damage and its three hit combo does only 24 damage. Therefore, Gale Attack is the strongest attack Zero can do in the entire Mega Man Zero series without modifications and chips. Nevertheless, Gale Attack can only be used on the ground and can't attack aerial enemies.

Against bosses, all damage is halved, becoming 18, which is still very powerful, regardless, as a boss's life bar is 32 points. A risk of using Gale Attack against bosses is that Zero risks colliding with bosses while performing the attack, making it a high risk, high reward EX Skill and should be used with consideration. A good strategy to lower the risk of doing so is to use a charged buster shot to set hit priority to 1, then hit the boss with the last two hits of Gale Attack.

Gale Attack's Hit priority is 1, 2, and 3, so it can be used to full extent as a combo starter (Outside of an uncharged Buster Shot attack and Orbit Shield to add damage beforehand) against bosses.

Trivia[]

  • Gale Attack is the only non-elemental dashing EX skill for the saber, as Sengatotsu and Thunder Stab both respectively have a thunder-elemental affinity and are thunder-elemental itself.
