Game Boy Advance (ゲームボーイアドバンス Gēmu Bōi Adobansu) is a handheld video game console manufactured by Nintendo and it is a successor to the Game Boy. The console was first released in Japan on March 21, 2001 and later released internationally in the summer of the following year.
The first video game in the Mega Man franchise released for the handheld console was the first entry of the Mega Man Battle Network series, initially released in Japan on the same time as the Game Boy Advance. The final Mega Man video game title to be released for the console was Mega Man Battle Network 6, first released on late 2005 in Japan. During its run, the Game Boy Advance saw the release of the Mega Man Battle Network series and Mega Man Zero series in their entirety.
The only game in the classic series of the Mega Man franchise to be released for console was Mega Man & Bass (a port of the original Super Famicom video game titled Rockman & Forte), initially released in Japan on August 10, 2002.
Game Boy Advance games can also be played on the Nintendo GameCube with the Game Boy Player and in some versions of the Nintendo DS via backward compatibility.
The console was succeeded by the Nintendo DS in 2004. The console was discontinued in Japan in 2006 and later worldwide in 2008.
