Not to be confused with Geemel.

Gemerl (ジーメル Jīmeru) is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog series that appears in the Archie Comics crossover Worlds Unite.

History[]

Gemerl is a powerful robot created by Dr. Eggman. He clashed with Sonic the Hedgehog in service to Eggman, before betraying the doctor and taking on a powerful new form, which forced Eggman and Sonic to join forces against him. After being defeated, Gemerl was found by Vanilla the Rabbit, who took him to Miles "Tails" Prower to be repaired and reprogrammed, giving him a good personality. Gemerl subsequently took up residence in Mobotropolis with Vanilla, her daughter Cream the Rabbit, and the Chao Cheese and Chocola, living peacefully with them. (Sonic Advance 3)

Worlds Unite[]

During M'egga Man's attack in Mobotropolis, Gemerl is asked to help the Freedom Fighters, showing up to put an end to the Roboticized Master. Unfortunately, M'egga Man's arsenal proved to be a greater obstacle than the android could counter, albeit with enough difficulty that M'egga Man, just before finishing him off, admitted that the android was almost as powerful as he was, and he is defeated with an energy beam on his face at point blank. (Sonic the Hedgehog #273) After the worlds merged, Gemerl is ordered by Sally Acorn to save some civilians that were falling from a damaged skyscraper due to the merging of two worlds, alongside Bunnie Rabbot.

Gemerl joins the unified heroes to stop Sigma, but when they face the Deadly Six, Gemerl, the Robot Masters and the three Maverick Hunters are forced to obey them. They return to normal after being hit by the Egg-Wily Uppity Robot Scrambler Cannon.

Abilities[]

Gemerl has abilities similar, if not equal or superior, to that of Sonic, possessing great speed and being able to perform the Spin Dash. He is also capable of rocket-powered flight and can fire missiles.
