Gockroach S (ゴッキローチS Gokkirōchi Esu) is a cockroach robot enemy in Mega Man 7, created by Dr. Wily based on the cockroaches he observed while he was in prison after the events of Mega Man 6, apparently planning to sell them as pets.[1]
Description[]
As their name implies, Gockroach S's resemble cockroaches with brown bodies. They have grey-ish white legs and reddish-brown underbodies.
Behavior[]
Gockroach S appears in Junk Man's stage and Wily Stage 1, crawling on the floor and walls. They can also fly for a short time, as well as crawl on the ceiling for a bit before falling down. Because a Gockroach S is short, it can be very annoying when it is on the floor as Mega Man's Mega Buster shots are too high to hit it, unless he uses a Charge Shot. He can however use Special Weapons that can reach them or shoot them from a lower terrain.
Nest[]
Gockroach S often appear near a nest made of junk that constantly produces them until it is destroyed.
Etymology[]
Gockroach S appears to be a combination of gokiburi (ゴキブリ, cockroach in Japanese) and cockroach (コックローチ kokkurōchi).
