Ground Dash (グランドダッシュ Gurando Dasshu) is a Special Weapon in Mega Man X6 obtained by X from defeating Ground Scaravich. It creates a boulder in front of X, which he then dashes into to send it sailing forwards.
Characteristics[]
Ground Dash has limited range, and is a slow-moving weapon. This weapon can be used to destroy or move the Nightmare Cubes created by the Nightmare Phenomenon in the Central Museum - the rock projectile can destroy only the brown and red cubes but does not have an effect on the black or blue cubes, however. In order to move such cubes, the player must have X touch the cube and by pressing the Special Weapon Button, X will then dash into the cube without creating a boulder. This causes the cube to move a certain distance depending on the cube type (blue ones slide a distance, black ones move a slight bit; other cube types are otherwise destroyed). Note that Weapon Energy will not be consumed if the player uses Ground Dash while X is standing directly next to the blue and black Nightmare Cube as no projectile is fired to move these cubes, but if the Weapon Energy meter is empty, X will not be able to do this dash.
When fully charged, X creates a large-sized rock projectile (freezing everything around him to do so), then fires it straight ahead. This is a medium-speed weapon, and has really good range.
This weapon is Blaze Heatnix's and Hell Sigma's weakness. For Blaze Heatnix, by default, using Ground Dash in its normal state inflicts 5 units of damage against him, while the charged version of Ground Dash inflicts 8.

Trivia[]
- Despite there being both a water and an ice-elemental weapon at X's disposal in Mega Man X6, Blaze Heatnix has a primary weakness to Ground Dash. It is speculated that when fire becomes too hot to douse or freeze with water, the ground can be used to suffocate or "stomp out" the flames, robbing it of its oxygen.
