Inferno, known as Drop Dead (ドロップ・デッド, Doroppu Deddo) in Japan, is Burn Rooster's stage in Mega Man X8. It is a waste disposal center that uses the heat of a volcano to incinerate garbage, including scrapped Mavericks. It appears to be located in South America, border of Argentina and Chile.

Description

The stage begins in a vertical tunnel full of platforms which automatically scrolls downwards, forcing the player to jump down the platforms. After this, there is a sub-boss room with either Vile or an abundance of fiery Mine-Qs to fight. Next there is a long, vertical shaft full of spikes and machinery. There is then another vertical auto-scroller segment, which leads right into Burn Rooster's boss chamber. After Burn Rooster's defeat, the volcano's control system goes out of control and the Hunters must escape the flowing magma through the mouth of the volcano to teleport away.

This is also an Intermission stage, acting as an endurance test.

	Foot Parts H
	In the black chamber after the mid-boss room, the capsule is visible on the other side of a wall. Carefully navigate under and up the left wall, avoiding spikes, to reach it.
	Rare Metal - T Breaker
	In the black chamber, travel all the way to the bottom to get a Skyroid's DNA for Axl. Return to the top to find a narrow pipe, and use A-Trans to copy the Skyroid and fly through.
	Rare Metal - Weapon Tank
	Before descending the second auto-scroller shaft, jump up the platforms and air dash to the right for a room with two Guardroids defending the Rare Metal.
	Rare Metal - Double Barrier (X)
	In the black chamber, use Zero's Dairettsui (Juuhazan with the T Breaker) on the floor below a Bindholder. The floor will shatter to reveal a box with the Rare Metal inside.

Trivia

• When Pallette identifies the location of the Rare Metal for Double Barrier (X), she states that a "good kick" will destroy the floor. This can make players assume that K Knuckle should be used, but the T Breaker is the correct weapon.
