Yamato Man

Tron kidnaps Roll Caskett and asks Rock to join her, but he refuses and goes to her rescue. After the defeat of the Kobuns, Tron tries to stop Rock in a mountain from Manda Island with the Jagd Krabbe by several means, like shooting from the sky, shooting it's arms and throwing rocks. After reaching the place Roll was held, Rock fights against the Jagd Krabbe, defeating it. In the end, while Tron and the Kobuns retreat, one Kobun reveals that Roll was already saved by Data.

Mega Man Legends 2[]

Tron decides to try and take the Key to the Mother Lode on Manda Island as per the agreement the Bonne family, Glyde Gang and the brothers Klaymoor and Bola had on the Sulphur-Bottom. Tron blocks MegaMan's way to the Manda Ruins at Pokte Village with the Jagd Krabbe Kai (ヤクト・クラベ改 Yakuto Kurabe Kai)[3] and attempts to smear Roll's reputation by telling MegaMan harsh truths, like Roll charging so much for weapon upgrades and being safe in the Flutter as a Spotter while he has to confront Reaverbots. She uses a voice synthesizer to sound like Roll and gets MegaMan to think that Roll's accusations are true by agreeing with her. To ensure that the real Roll doesn't interrupt Tron's claims, Tron used a jammer so Roll wouldn't be able to communicate with them throughout the fight.

After the fight, Tron and her Servbots (save for one who gets stuck at Pokte plains for some time) retreat from Manda Island, Roll manages to finally contact MegaMan now that the signal is no longer jammed and MegaMan doesn't believe that Roll would do the things Tron told him.

Abilities[]

Jagd Krabbe's attacks during the boss battle are:

  • Shoot bullets in a straight line from its front cannons, then turns around and fires a spread of bullets from its back.
  • Rain down shots in all directions while rotating.
  • Slam its claw down to create a small shockwave.
  • Shoots bombs from the top of its head when it's far away.
  • After losing a large amount of health, it will start spinning around and hovering all over the area. It's invulnerable to any damage while this is happening.
    • Collateral damage is unavoidable while fighting this boss in Mega Man Legends 2. It's spinning attack is guaranteed to destroy most, if not all houses from Pokte Village. MegaMan can later make donations to the mayor to repair the damage.
  • While not an offensive move, it is capable of moving sideways like a real crab in Rockman DASH 2 Episode 1.

The Jagd Krabbe is also able to fly. The Jagd Krabbe Kai from Mega Man Legends 2 is shown to have the same abilities as the Rockman DASH 2 Episode 1 version with it's flying ability, detachment of arms and crab like movement omitted from the game. Jagd Krabbe Kai is also shown to be equipped with a voice synthesizer and a signal jammer that Tron uses to trick MegaMan during their fight, Tron sometimes using Roll's voice to say things to MegaMan. The Signal jammer was also later installed in the Hover Gustaff. One of the sentences she says is "MegaMan, behind you!", which the real Roll said during the Lake Jyun mission from Mega Man Legends.

Trivia[]

Mega Man Legends 2 Jagd Krabbe Kai concept

Jagd Krabbe Kai concept art

  • Jagd Krabbe is German for "Hunter Crab".
  • Kai is Japanese for "revision", "changed", and or "improved". Which implies that the robot's flying ability, crab like movement and detachment of arms have been omitted from Megaman Legends 2.
  • The Jagd Krabbe has some similarities with the Ferdinand from the first game. Both are four legged mechs, the first mech Tron used to fight against MegaMan in the games they appeared, and are able to destroy buildings in the area that can later be repaired by making donations to a mayor.
