Not to be confused with Kaiser Knuckle (K.Knckle), a Mega Weapon from the Mega Man Star Force series.

The K Knuckle (Kナックル K Nakkuru), or Kaiser Knuckle (カイザーナックル Kaizā Nakkuru)[1], is an unlockable weapon for Zero and Layer in Mega Man X8. It is a pair of brass knuckles developed from a Rare Metal found in Gravity Antonion's stage. They are a close-ranged weapon that has a high damage output.

Description[]

The K Knuckle has the shortest range of all Zero's weapons, barely extending beyond his fists. Their basic combo is also only two hits, meaning they cannot break guards normally. However, they possess the same enhanced attack power as the T Breaker, and equipping them augments many of Zero's special techniques into attacks referencing moves from fighting games. These attacks have smaller range than their default counterparts, but deal more damage and sometimes have different hitboxes.

Trivia[]

  • The name Kaiser Knuckle is a term used for brass knuckles in Japan.
  • Because the K Knuckle cannot be obtained without first defeating Earthrock Trilobyte for his Crystal Wall, it is impossible to use the K Knuckle without Rekkyoudan in a single playthrough. This means the default K Knuckle is only accessible in a New Game+ save file.
  • The variant techniques of the K Knuckle all imitate different moves from various fighting games.
    • Senpuukyaku comes from a recurring move of the same name in the Street Fighter series.
    • Shouryuuken also comes from a move of the same name in the Street Fighter series. Technically, it is closer to the variant Shinryuken due to the rapid spinning.
    • Enkoukyaku is similar to Tenmakujinkyaku, a move of Akuma in the Street Fighter series.
    • Ganzanha is similar to Power Wave, the signature move of Terry Bogard from the Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters series
    • Raijinken is similar to Wind God Fist, the signature move of the Mishima Style from the Tekken series.
