To destroy the tank, the player must destroy the three parts that can attack: the top cannon, the turret, and the hatch that releases Rompers. All three are only vulnerable when they use their respective attacks. The treads can also be attacked indefinitely, and if the player attacks them with Remote Mine, it will prevent the tank from charging at them; however, it is not necessary to damage them in order to defeat the tank. The stage consists of a wide battlefield with a lower subsection, accessible by two ladders on either side of the field. In that section, Mega Man and Bass can hide from most of the King Tank's attacks and damage it with Lightning Bolt.
- The red turret in front of the tank shoots a barrage of bullets. The tank moves backward while doing so if the player moves.
- The cannon at the top fires several bombs into the sky and drops them in a random formation. It can hurt the player even in the subsection as it creates an explosion up and down the impact zone.
- The hatch at the back opens up and releases several Rompers at the player to paralyze them and steal Screws. The player can slide an Ice Wall into the open hatch to damage it and eventually break it, also destroying the Rompers in the way.
- Running over the player. This attack can be avoided by climbing down to the subsection. To disable this attack, use three to six Remote Mines on the treads until they release smoke.
Displays the amount of damage in units that each segment King Tank will receive from each Special Weapon from Mega Man & Bass. The cannon, turret, and hatch all take damage equally and independently, while the treads can only be damaged by the Remote Mine.
