The Life Virus R, known as Dream Virus R (ドリームウィルスＲ（アール） Dorīmu Wirusu Āru) in Japan, is a large virus in the Mega Man Battle Network series. It is an upgrade of the Life Virus that was created by the Professor, an assistant of Dr. Wily, to carry on the original version's objective to destroy the world by controlling the Cyberworld from military computers to launch missile everywhere.

The Life Virus R is fought at the end of the game as the final boss. It can create duplicates of the NetNavis fought throughout the game.
When beaten, the Life Virus R's core exposes itself, flying around dropping data balls which can decrease MegaMan's life gauge down to only 1 HP. However, contact with the virus itself will cause 300 HP damage.
Once defeated, the Life Virus R is destroyed, and although the Professor threatens to create a new and stronger version, he is found by the Officials and arrested.

Life Virus R imitations appear as bosses in the Mega Man Battle Network event stage Network Domination Project. Due to errors in the Deep Log, the copies are able to talk.

First Phase[]
- Life Aura: Generates an aura around Life Virus R, negating attacks that do less than 100 damage.
- Ice Tower: Shoots towers of ice from the ground that slowly progress to the left of the screen.
- Fire Horn: A flamethrower spews out of its mouth.
- Wood Tower: Wooden towers jut from the ground.
- Thunder Blaze: Clouds are summoned from which lightning bolts are shot down from.
Second Phase[]
If MegaMan makes direct contact with the core, it will deal 300 damage to him.
- Life Bubble: The core drops bubbles that drop MegaMan's HP to 1 upon contact. If MegaMan's HP is already at 1, the bubbles will have no effect.
