The MainComp is a Cyberworld location in MegaMan Battle Network 5 and serves as SciLab's main system. Depending on the game's version it is hijacked by either ProtoMan.EXE or Colonel.EXE.
Description
Being the first major stage of the game, the comp is rather relatively straightforward and short, with a technological appearance befitting SciLab. As they venture further into the comp the player will several blocks with letters or numbers. What the player must do is take the data from those blocks (one at a time) and rearrange them in a way that makes sense with hints provided by nearby programs in how to do so.
The player, however, has a limited number of moves between taking and placing and failing to arrange them in the allotted amount will cause the Security System to activate forcing a virus battle and any alterations to reset.
As they travel further they will encounter two or three groups of blocks at the same time, and the player has to arrange them all at once, with some leading to switches to open a path blocked by electronic doors.
Story
After Nebula kidnaps Yuichiro Hikari and their subsequent takeover of the Net, SciLab's main system is infiltrated by a intruder. Believing it to be Nebula's doing, Lan Hikari and MegaMan.EXE decide to investigate in order to find clues and stop the perpetrator.
As they reach the end of the network they are attacked by either ProtoMan or Colonel whom Lan and MegaMan manage to defeat. Following the battle the duo are led to another room where they meet with Eugene Chaud or Baryl revealing the attack on the main system was a bluff in order to find and test competent Netbattlers to join an anti-Nebula crops to retake the net and the defeat the DarkChip Syndicate. Knowing it can lead them to their father, Lan and MegaMan accept to join the team.
