Maverick Factory Stage (イレギュラー工場ステージ "Irregular Factory Stage") is the Opening Stage of Mega Man X2. It is a derelict desert factory that is secretly being used by the remnants of Sigma's rebellion to create more Maverick soldiers.
Description[]
The factory's location is first pinpointed by Dr. Cain, and a squadron of Maverick Hunters are deployed to shut it down. Riding in on Ride Chasers, the only Hunter who safely arrives is X, who manages to infiltrate the base and destroy the only operating Gigantic Mechaniloid CF-0 in production there. After having wiped out all of the operating Mavericks, X departs, and a brand new group of eight Mavericks unveils themselves.

Rockman X2 (manga)[]
In the manga, the stage is known as Wilon Plant. X traces the origins of the Sigma Chip to Wilon Plant, which was thought to be abandoned, but he is sidetracked by a mission from Boy. When that mission goes wrong, X storms Wilon Plant and destroys the Gigantic Mechaniloid CF-0 there, burning down the factory and supposedly halting the production of Sigma's new Maverick army.
