Latest revision as of 23:24, 30 July 2023

The Mega Buster, known as Rock Buster (ロックバスター) in Japan, is the Mega Buster of the Mega Man from the Mega Man Star Force series. It is Omega-Xis's head. This version has automatic rapid fire, and when not in use, it will automatically charge to fire a stronger shot. This version of the Mega Buster allows Mega Man to use the Mega Attack (ウォーロックアタック Warrock Attack in Japan), which is when he locks-on and teleports to the enemy to attack with close range Battle Cards. It can't be used with cards that stop time.

Omega-Xis can also transform into different weapons by using Battle Cards. In the Mega Man Star Force anime, Omega-Xis uses Predation (プレデーション) to "consume" a Battle Card and temporarily transform into it. This only takes a few seconds, but skilled enemies can use it to attack Mega Man before he can use it. Predation was removed when Geo Stelar starts using the Star Carrier, increasing the speed to use Battle Cards and making it like the games.

In Mega Man Star Force 3, as an effect of wearing the Hunter-VG, Mega Man's left hand is now normal, with a design similar to Omega-Xis. The Mega Buster is now more traditional in design as well.

Mega Weapons / Wizard Equips

The Mega Weapons, known as Wizard Equips in the third game, are special types of weapons (similar to the Power Up Items in Mega Man Battle Network), which allow Omega-Xis to change his Attack strength, his Rapid fire rate, or how fast the MegaBuster can Charge. Certain weapons can even modify the properties of the Charge Shot or alter the results of the battle.

Trivia

  • In the second and third game there is an Ability Wave, Humor Buster (HumrBstr), that changes the sound of the Mega Buster's shots to dog barks. The third game also has a Humor Buster 2 (HumrBst2) Ability that changes the sound to meows.
  • Though they cause no overt modification to Mega Man's appearance, a handful of the weapons imply that they should by virtue of being named for jewelry (rings, bracelets, and piercings).
