Publisher's summary[]
"Time Keeps Slipping" Part Three: Mega Man's search for his kidnapped sister and clues to clear Dr. Light's name is coming up with nothing. And Dr. Wily is still at large! Maybe he can save the day with the help of the six Robot Masters! Or are the robots wandering right into Dr. Wily's latest trap?
Story[]
Time Keeps Slipping - Part Three: Reinforcements[]
At the sewers of Dr. Wily's old hideout, Mega Man warns Ice Man and Cut Man about a hostile robot above them. He’s hit by a bubble that partially electrocutes him while his Mega Buster shots are deflected. The robot appears to retreat, but quickly ambushes Cut Man. Ice Man tries to fight it with the Ice Slasher, but it has no effect. The robot then spawns smaller versions of itself. Ice Man jokes that it's “having babies,” but Mega Man warns they could be dangerous—right before they explode, confirming they’re bombs. Mega Man comes up with a plan: Ice Man freezes the mini-bombs, and Cut Man breaks the shield with his Rolling Cutter, throwing in a pun as he finishes the robot off. Mega Man scans the remains and identifies it as CWU-01P, a former water purifier modified by Wily. Cut Man quips that his pun is what really destroyed it. The team finds an elevator that seems to offer a way out, but it brings them back to where they started, still without a lead on Wily—who watches them remotely via a Telly.
Back at the quarry where the Robot Masters are regrouping, Agent Krantz arrives with news from Dr. Light. He’s asked her to check on Rock and Roll, and she offers to help. They contact Dr. Light from Agent Stern’s office, who informs them about Oil Man, Time Man, and a likely hideout: an old workshop used to test the two. Stern sends a vehicle to take Rock, the Robot Masters, and Krantz there. On the way, the Robot Masters return their powers to Mega Man—just in case. Once there, Time Man and Oil Man quickly defeat the Robot Masters before Mega Man and Krantz can react. The two find Wily holding Roll captive. Time Man battles Mega Man while Krantz tries to rescue her. Time Man orders Oil Man to stop her, but Oil Man disobeys, interrupting the fight so he can face Mega Man himself. Mega Man lands a few hits, but is stunned when the Robot Masters reappear—this time reprogrammed to fight him once again.
Short Circuits[]
Toasters are pretty miraculous.
I Don't Like It[]
Agent Stern's history of machine distrust goes back farther than robots. Before them, it was cell phones, and way before that, it was toasters. Amusingly enough, he's clearly taller, better dressed, and more imposing in each successive flashback.
