Character selection
- MEGA MAN - A kind-hearted robot that vanquishes foes with his Buster weapon.
- MEGA MAN S - Press the jump button while pressing the down button to slide.
- MEGA MAN C - Use both sliding and Charge Shots to decimate foes!
- MEGA - This helper robot of Dr. Light uses kicks to attack enemies.
- CUTMAN - Jump against a wall and kick off it to reach higher places.
- GUTSMAN - Create blocks out of thin air and throw them at foes!
- ICEMAN - Freeze foes solid and walk on them!
- BOMBMAN - Use the directional buttons to throw bombs in different directions.
- FIREMAN - Create a flaming barrier and shoot fire. Water extinguishes the flames.
- ELECMAN - Fire bolts of electricity up, down, and forward. Also, manipulate Elec Blocks.
- TIMEMAN - Fire clock hands up and down. Charge to slow time.
- OILMAN - Shoot a drop of oil onto the ground. Jump on to execute the Oil Slider!
- ROLL - This helper robot swings weapons to attack!
- NINJA ROLL - Ninja style! I may be a ninja, but I don't hide! I run straight into battle!
- VALENTINE ROLL - Happy Valentine's Day! I wonder if my secret crush is obvious? Tee hee hee...
- MEGA MAN 8 ROLL - Cute, huh? I really love this outfit! The big buttons are just adorable!
- SPORTS ROLL - 1, 2, 3, go! I may not look it, but I can run really fast!
- KNIGHT ROLL - Cool, huh? With this, I'm not afraid of Dr. Wily, ghouls, or even ghosts!
- RAINY DAY ROLL - Who says rainy days have to be boring? Forget board games! I'm ready to rock!
- STRAW ROLL - This outfit's perfect for summer! No one gets away from me!
- VACATION ROLL - It's great to get away from the grind and while away the hours on a beach!
- SUMMER ROLL - Bad kids better watch out for me! I'll teach 'em a lesson!
- HALLOWEEN ROLL - Trick or treat! Smell my feet! Just kidding, silly! Robot feet don't smell!
- ALLEY CAT ROLL - Little kitties might look adorable, but don't forget they have sharp claws!
- ROLL CLAUSE - Merry Christmas! What did you ask for this year? I hope you've been good!
- PROTOMAN - Use the Proto Strike attack! Defend with the shield!
Dr. Light's Lab
(The following dialogues play with any character, except for Roll.)
(After completing a stage.)
Dr. Light: Nice job! Keep up the good work!
(After completing a stage.)
Roll: Great job! Give it your all on the next stage too, ok?
(After completing a stage. More likely to appear if cleared without losing a life.)
Roll: Welcome home!
Dr. Light: Great job... And no injuries too! Splendid!
Roll: Keep on fighting!
(After completing a Wily stage.)
Dr. Light: Oh, good job! You did well!
Roll: You're not hurt, right?! Oh, thank goodness.
Dr. Light: I'm counting on you in the next area, too!
(Returning after a Game Over.)
Roll: Oh! Are you hurt?! Are you ok? It must have been tough out there, hey?
Dr. Light: For the sake of world peace, please hold on!
(Returning with Escape.)
Roll: Welcome home! That was a little fast, wasn't it?
As Roll
(After completing a stage.)
Dr. Light: You've worked hard! Please carry on!
(After completing a stage.)
Roll: I'm hooome!! What's next?!
(After completing a stage. More likely to appear if cleared without losing a life.)
Roll: I'm home!
Dr. Light: Oh, great work! Let's see... Repairs... Looks like you don't need any!
Roll: I wonder where to go next?
(After completing a Wily stage.)
Dr. Light: I'm a bit surprised! I never knew you had this kind of strength...
Roll: I didn't know either.
Dr. Light: But, promise me you won't push yourself too hard.
(Returning after a Game Over.)
Roll: Nnngh... N-nngh...?
Dr. Light: ... Ok, I've finished the repairs! Now, for the sake of world peace, go! You're my only hope!
(Returning with Escape.)
Dr. Light: Hm? That was fast!
Costruction mode
(The player enters Construction mode and selects the Create! option)
Roll: Ok, let's get started! First, let's choose "Data Select". This is how to select a stage data file.
(Data Select mode)
CREATE NEW STAGE
Select this option when you want to
create a brand new stage.
LOAD STAGE
When you want to load a stage you've
started working on, choose this.
(If Data Select mode is highlighted afterwards)
Roll: Data Select mode. Please choose a stage data file to load.
(If the player decides to create a new stage)
Roll: Next, we have "Pack Select"! Different packs contain different enemies and backgrounds, so choose wisely!

Roll: Pack Select mode. If you change packs in the middle of constructing, you will loose all your hard work, so be careful!

Roll: (audio only) Ok, first, let's choose a scenery.
Roll: (audio only) Next, choose an enemy pack.

Now, we're ready to try "Block Set"
mode! This is where you get to create
your stage!
Roll: (audio only) Give it a try, ok?

Roll: Block Set mode. Create platforms, set enemies -- the world is your stage!

Roll: Are you done? If you want, you can try your stage out in the "Playtest" mode below. Give it a try!

Roll: Playtest mode. Playtest your stages to your heart's content and create the ultimate map!
(Starting Playtest mode)
Roll: (audio only) Please choose your test character.
Place the character at the spot from where you'd like to begin the test.
You can stop the test by pressing the start button at any time during play.
(The player leaves Playtest mode for the first time)
Roll: How was it? Remember, if there was something you didn't like, you can always fix it in Block Set mode!

Roll: Rule Setting mode. Change your stage's rules, character starting positions, and boss settings at the press of a button!

Roll: (audio only) Choose a character to use on the stage you created. You can even choose more than one!
(The player decides the characters and weapons that can be used on the stage)
Decide where you want your character to start from. They'll appear on that spot.
(After deciding the starting point, the player decides the boss)
Roll: (audio only) Now, let us customize a boss to your stage!
You can only place the boss door on the left or right border line of the stage.
Place the door to the boss' chamber. Try to put it on the stage's border.
(After deciding the position of the boss chamber, the player finishes by entering the stage name and saving and returns to the main Construction menu)
(If the play leaves without finishing or by pressing Start to save)
Leave now without saving, and you'll lose your work! You sure that's OK?
(The player selects the Play! option, which has two options)

Try this option when you want to play
a stage you've created.
PLAY DOWNLOADED STAGE
Try this when you want to play a stage
you've downloaded from Mega Man WEB.
