Metroline map in Mega Man Battle Network 4
The Metroline (メトロライン) is a high-powered subway system introduced by its grand opening in Mega Man Battle Network. There is a station located in ACDC Town. The system itself is controlled by internet programs and controllers. Students and children receive metroline passes for free but adults pay full price (which is never actually determined).
In the first game, the internet system was hacked by a NetNavi known as StoneMan. Lan Hikari and MegaMan.EXE teamed up to defeat the WWW Navi and restored the Metroline's functions. The WWW constructed a secret Metroline to their secret base allowing for quick and easy travel between there and ACDC Town, having a station underneath ACDC Elementary School.
Mega Man Battle Network 3 introduced a cyberworld Metroline known as the CyberMetro (電脳メトロ). It was conducted by Mr. Progs and could relay NetNavis to different sections of the net.
In Mega Man Battle Network 4 and 5, Metroline stations were replaced by a map showing possible travel locations, speeding up travel between areas.
