- "A military train is moving supplies. Cut off Repliforce's supply route."
- ―Stage description, Mega Man X4
Military Train (ミリタリートレイン) is a stage in Mega Man X4 and Mega Man X DiVE. It is a train responsible for delivering military supplies to Repliforce.
History[]

Military Train's stage icon
When the Reploid military organization known as the Repliforce was labeled as Mavericks due to refusing to turn in their weapons after being suspected of involvement in the deadly Sky Lagoon disaster, they launched a violent war of independence to form their own nation-state of Reploids and secede from humanity. The ultimate plan was for the nation of Reploids to be in a gigantic space colony known as the Final Weapon, where there would be a utopia and a sanctuary for all Reploids. To further this goal, Repliforce turned on the very humans that they had once protected.
Repliforce Army Commander Slash Beast took command of the Military Train and used it to move weapons and ammunition for Repliforce.[1] The Maverick Hunters where given the task to cut Repliforce's supply by stopping the train. They engaged Beast's unit in a vicious battle aboard the train and many of his soldiers before reaching him. Beast was furious that the Hunters dared to attack his unit, and boasted that he would cut them down like prey. Beast underestimated the Hunters' combat abilities however, and was slain in the ensuing battle against them.
Military Train Area 1[]
The first half of the stage is on top of the Military Train. It contains destructible boxes, as well as Plasma Cannon enemies mounted in train wagons. Some connections of the train will be blown up by Knot Berets B, only having a small amount of time to dash jump across. After a third train connector is blown up, X/Zero will have to fight the sub-boss DG-42L.
Military Train Area 2[]
The second half of the stage is inside a tunnel, still on top of the Military Train. This section contains the Ride Armor Raiden which can destroy the blue metal boxes, as well as train wagons. On top of those wagons is a Life Up. After reaching the front of the train and climbing up, it will stop, and one has to jump across a few pits in order to board the next train. In this train, Slash Beast will jump into it and X/Zero will have to fight him.

Mega Man X DiVE[]
Military Train is the fourth co-op stage. It is divided in two stages representing its two areas, the first unlocked with level 50 and the second with level 55.
Due to the errors in the Deep Log, the stage enemies and boss are different. In the first stage, two of the train connections are blown up by Sine Fallers, and there is no mid-boss. In the second stage, the players face Vile in his Ride Armor Goliath in the tunnel instead of taking other train.
The normal crates from the stage are also used in the short event stage "Severing supply line".

The Repliforce military train in the manga
Repliforce's military train makes an appearance in the 10th issue of the manga, "Running". It is an utterly massive train with extreme speed capabilities, and multiple Repliforce soldiers stand guard atop the train. The military train is speeding through the city at a dangerous velocity and destroying multiple buildings. The conductor of a smaller Super Express train frantically notices the military train's speed and implores it to decelerate at once, but his pleas go unanswered and the Super Express is destroyed, killing all the passengers aboard along with the conductor.
After the independent Repliforce nurse Iris is wounded due to computer terminals exploding in front of her because of the machinations of Cyber Peacock, one of her subordinates informs Zero that the only way to save her is with a vaccine chip that is inside the Repliforce train and in the possession of Army Captain Slash Beast. Zero assaults the train from above with an Eagle Ride Armor, just after its destruction of the Super Express train. The guards and the train's automated defenses all blast at Zero simultaneously and quickly destroy the Armor. He then jumps out of the Eagle and lands on the train, and engages the soldiers in a fierce charge. The soldiers assault him with all sorts of weaponry such as turrets and laser guns and flying drones, but Zero pushes on with his skills and amazing strength. An automated turret then blasts him at point-blank range, blowing his helmet clean off, and Zero angrily destroys the turret in response.
In the interior of the train Beast is seated in his throne room, being attended to by maidservants while a Repliforce soldier gives a status report. A large Repliforce flag hangs behind Beast's throne. The soldier confirms that they have lost one of the train's carriages to Zero, saying he was stronger than he thought. Beast warns the soldier not to make excuses, and when the soldier feebly repeats himself about Zero's power, Beast angrily kills the soldier by tearing him apart with his claws. Beast declares that the soldier has stained the Repliforce flag with his failure.
Zero then fights onward aboard the Repliforce train, but is momentarily knocked out after a Repliforce soldier in a Ride Armor skewers him from behind with an energy lance. The blood from Zero's wound causes him to have visions of his Maverick past and mysterious creator, but then he remembers Iris and how he needs to save her and his fighting spirit returns. He uses all his strength to punch the soldier down, toppling him and his Ride Armor. Zero then pushes forward, and uses a Rakuhouha attack to detach and destroy the train's prior carriages, killing the remaining soldiers.
Meanwhile, a powered-up X arrives, and crashes through the roof of the train to Beast's chambers inside. Beast confidently replies that he considers X to be nothing more than prey, and that he'll have fun killing him before he kills Zero as well. He proceeds to lunge at X. Then, when Zero arrives at the door of Beast's throne chamber, a huge blast tears through it and destroys a large portion of it, and Zero is stunned to find Beast's hand on the ground with the vaccine chip on it. X has just killed Beast and is burning the Repliforce flag as a symbol of victory. X mentions how ironic it is that Beast begged for his life before his death, considering that he had just so casually murdered one of his own troops moments earlier.
X warns Zero not to get in his way, otherwise, he will kill him too. Zero watches in worry and astonishment as X flies off, but nevertheless takes the vaccine chip from the remains of Beast's hand and goes to save Iris.

Trivia[]
- In an early beta version for the Sega Saturn, Slash Beast's boss fight starts off still inside the tunnel. Past the halfway mark of the boss's health (or perhaps when a certain amount of time passed during the fight), the scenery will automatically shift to the outside of the stationed cave.
- The official soundtrack of Mega Man X4 features a longer version of the stage music than is played during the actual stage. This version is also included in the music player of Mega Man X Legacy Collection.
