Nicole-sometimes referred to as NICOLE is a portable computer that developed a sentient mind with a feminine personality, and created a holographic body of an anthropomorphic lynx. She hails from the world of Sonic the Hedgehog, where she-like him and her close friend Sally Acorn-are members of the Freedom Fighters.
History[]
Before and after Worlds Collide[]
In the original reality, NICOLE hailed from an alternate future and was sent back in time to aid the Freedom Fighters. Later on she took control of Dr. Eggman's Nanites to use for peaceful purposes like the creation of New Mobotropolis. Prior to the activation of the Genesis Wave, NICOLE & Team Freedom discovered that her Nanites were being used for destructible purposes by the Tails Doll. (Sonic the Hedgehog #247/FCBD 2013)
In the altered version of Sonic's world, New Mobotropolis never existed, but Nicole gained the ability to project a solid holographic form from her computer. During the fight with the Tails Doll, Tails picked up her portable body, resulting in him regaining memories of the previous reality and the events of Worlds Collide. (Sonic the Hedgehog #252)
Worlds Unite[]
Nicole later participated alongside the Freedom Fighters, the Maverick Hunters, and the Robot Masters in the events of Worlds Collide. She alongside Roll are the only mechanical characters to not be affected by the Deadly Six's machinations, as they were inside the Sky Patrol at the time (and in the case of Nicole, was technically a computer program rather than a robot).
Background Information[]
- Nicole is one of several Sonic the Hedgehog comic characters who hail from the Sonic the Hedgehog animated series. She thus did not appear in Worlds Collide, but was later approved-along with the rest of the team-for Worlds Unite.
