Real-World Information
This article is about a subject in the real world.

The Nintendo DS (ニンテンドーDS Nintendō Dī Esu) (sometimes abbreviated to DS or NDS) is a dual-screen handheld game console developed and manufactured by Nintendo. It was released in 2004 in Canada, the United States, and Japan. The console features a clamshell design, similar to the Game Boy Advance SP, with two LCD screens inside—with the bottom one being a touchscreen. The Nintendo DS also features a built-in microphone and supports wireless, allowing players to interact with each other within short range or online with the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service. This was the first Nintendo console to be released in North America prior to Japan. There are four versions of the Nintendo DS. These are Nintendo DS, Nintendo DS Lite, Nintendo DSi, and Nintendo DSi XL. The original Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite can play Game Boy Advance games. The two latter versions can access downloadable content.

GBA Dongle[]

The DS featured extra features that were unlocked if certain GBA games were in the cartridge slot when a compatible DS game was booted up. Several Mega Man games on the DS had this feature.

Mega Man ZX[]

If a copy of Mega Man Zero 3 or 4 is in the GBA slot when loading up Mega Man ZX, four Mutos Reploids from the inserted game can be fought in Area N. Beating both sets of bosses in Normal or Hard mode allows one to unlocked Model O after defeating Omega in the neighboring room.

Mega Man Battle Network 5 Double Team DS[]

If a copy of any of the Mega Man Battle Network games between the original and the 4th game (4.5 as well exclusive to Japan) is in the GBA slot, the battle music in Double Team DS becomes a remix of the battle music from the game inserted.

If a copy of the GBA versions of Mega Man Battle Network 5 is inserted with the story completed, a version of Bass Cross MegaMan is unlocked depending on the version.

Sol Cross MegaMan is unlocked if a copy of Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django is inserted in international versions and if a copy of Shin Bokura no Taiyō is in the Japanese version.

Mega Man Star Force[]

A side quest becomes available if a copy of any of the Mega Man Battle Network games is in the Game Boy Advance slot. In the end of the quest MegaMan.EXE gives Mega Man the Mega Weapon BN Blaster.

Mega Man Star Force 2[]

A side quest becomes available if a copy of any of the Mega Man Battle Network games is in the Game Boy Advance slot. After finding and reading all of Lan's diary entries, Geo Stelar will receive a message from Lan and the Mega Weapon BN Blaster.
