The Old Castle Stage (古城ステージ), also known as Blade Man's Stage[1] and Blade Man Stage,[2] is Blade Man's stage in Mega Man 10, set inside an ancient castle.

Description[]

Blade Man's Stage starts on the outside of the castle with a large wall of cannons in the background. Mega Man will traverse through New Classical Cannons and Merserkers before making it inside the castle where he'll be greeted by Darspiders on the ceiling while jumping over spikes. Going up the castle, Mega Man will reach the main gimmick, Seesaws, and learn about them in a safe environment before using them to traverse over spikes while fending off Shotoms and Merserkers before reaching Tricastle. After beating Tricastle, Mega Man will go down a couple rooms of stairs that have Merserkers and Darspiders in them. Mega Man will then go through a long Seesaw section with Shotoms to fight and after reaching the end, Mega Man can grab a W-Tank if he has Commando Bomb. Mega Man will finally reach the end of the Seesaw gimmick, now with bottomless pits and spikes on the ceiling before reaching Blade Man.

On Easy Mode, the number of stage items increases and become more generous. Most of the spike pits in the see-saw sections are sealed off with floating platforms.

On Hard Mode, items are less generous and enemy density increases. Noticeably, the number of Shotoms that appear on the see-saw sections have increased by a large amount.

  • W-Tank: It can be found after the third Seesaw section and can only be grabbed by jumping off a raised Seesaw platform and using Commando Bomb on the breakable wall. Mega Man can use Commando Bomb again to go in an easier path.
  • 1-UP: It can be found at the beginning of the fourth Seesaw section in between the ceiling spikes and can only be dropped down by breaking the wall with Commando Bomb.
