PlayStation (プレイステーション Pureisutēshon), commonly known as PS1 or PSX, is a video game created by Sony Computer Entertainment. The console was first debuted in Japan on December 1994 and later was released worldwide in 1995. PlayStation was mainly competed with Nintendo 64 and Sega Saturn.

Mega Man X3 (a port of the original SNES game) was the first Mega Man game to be released for the console, initially released in Japan on April 26, 1996. The last Mega Man video game released for the console was Mega Man X6, initially released in Japan on November 29, 2001.

The first game of the classic Mega Man series was Mega Man 8, it was first released in Japan on December 17, 1996.

PlayStation was discontinued in 2006 and its successor is the PlayStation 2, released in 2000.
