A plug-n-play is a type of dedicated gaming device that only plays the games programmed to it. Most often they are a budget system that come in varying levels of quality, but are usually offcially licensed products. The name comes from the fact that one can simply remove the device from its packaging, plug it in, and play without any set up.

In 2005, Jakks Pacific came out with the GameKey system, which could add games to their Plug It In & Play TV Games line. They had released a Capcom 3-in-1 with a GameKey slot and planned a GameKey containing Gunsmoke and Mega Man 2[1], but it was never released.

In 2007, Takara Tomy released a plug-n-play system based on the Mega Man Star Force series. It had a unique Omega-Xis arm as a controller.

In 2018, MSi Entertainment released a dedicated Mega Man 2 plug-n-play for US $17.88. The packaging encourages playing the device on a CRT TV for a more authentic experience.

Mega Man Collection is a plug-and-play gaming console released by Arcade1Up. It is a collection console that features the first six classic Mega Man games and uses a wireless Sega Saturn inspired controller, and has an SD card slot on the back. The games are based on their original NES releases but the buttons to jump and fire the Mega Buster are reversed from their original NES positioning and a rewind feature and save states are included. It was announced on January 29, 2020, and released on October 18 of the same year for $39.99 USD.
