The Resistance (レジスタンス Rejisutansu) is a faction appearing in Mega Man X: Command Mission. They are a group of Reploids that formed to oppose the Rebellion Army's military takeover of Giga City.
History[]

When Epsilon formed the Rebellion Army and took over Giga City, a group calling themselves the Resistance quickly formed in opposition of their extremist visions of Force Metal experimentation. This group was led by Chief R and his protégé Aile, operating out of the Central Tower area to avoid Epsilon's influence.[1] The warrior Steel Massimo and his apprentice also opposed the Rebellion, though it appears they did not officially join the Resistance yet. Things began looking grim when Wild Jango captured Chief R and occupied Central Tower, and Steel Massimo was captured by Silver Horn as a POW in Tianna Camp.
When X was separated from Zero by Shadow's betrayal, he was picked up by a Resistance rescue force and healed in a maintenance bed in New Hope. With the help of Aile's sacrifice and his new ally Spider, X went on to free Chief R , defeat Wild Jango, and restore Resistance control of Central Tower. From there, X helped the Resistance turn the tide of the battle with the Rebellion Army, recruiting new faces such as Massimo, Nana, Marino, Cinnamon, Professor Gaudile, and his Maverick Hunter allies, Zero and Axl. This included re-establishing contact with X's commanding officer, Colonel Redips. Eventually, X's team defeated Epsilon and the Rebellion Army Cadres, giving the Resistance a final victory and freeing Giga City.
However, once Colonel Redips obtained the Rebellion's Supra-Force Metal, he turned on the Resistance and declared them traitors. Chief R perished in the ambush, and X led a small task force to the Far East HQ to clear their names. Upon learning Redips' ambition to take over the world and even the entire universe, X and the Resistance fought and destroyed him.
