| For the virus/program from the video games the character is based on, see Rush (program). For other uses, see Rush (disambiguation). |
Rush is a program created by Dr. Hikari and given to Maylu Sakurai during the first season of MegaMan NT Warrior. He is a care-free program that is depicted as lazy and indulgent, and is often the companion of Chisao Oyama.
Personality[]
Like most characters in the anime, Rush is entirely different from his video game counterpart, which starts as an enemy virus in Mega Man Battle Network 2 before becoming an assist program in the Navi Customizer in later games and a shortcut system in Mega Man Battle Network 6. Instead, similar to his counterparts in other Mega Man series, Rush is a dog-like companion to main characters Lan Hikari, MegaMan, Maylu Sakurai, and Roll. Though Rush only speaks in barks, most characters are able to understand him clearly.
Rush is a very indulgent for program, and loves to eat large amounts of food, spends lots time at hot springs and taking bathes, and watches TV and sports often. Before being caught red-handed by Lan, Rush would often make the excuse that being exposed to water would cause him to short out of the real world, excusing him of having to many takes that Lan ended up doing himself, until he connected the dots and realized that Rush often indulged in hot springs and bathes without any repercussions. Despite his generally lazy behavior, Rush does have a sense of justice to him and makes an effort to do what’s right, often reporting suspicious activity he has seen to Lan or summoning other viruses to aid MegaMan and the others in battle.
While playing a few important roles within the series, Rush serves mostly as comedic effect, and is often paired with Chisao Oyama as the series progresses.
