MM11 Scrapp

Scrapped robots in Mega Man 11

A Scrap (スクラップ) is the corpse of a broken, inactive machine that appears as an obstacle in some games from the Mega Man franchise. The name is the same regardless of the amount.

Appearances[]

Mega Man 3[]

Mega Man 3
Main article: Scrap (Mega Man 3)

Scrap, also known as garbage, is a compacted block of scrap.

Mega Man 11[]

Scrap, named Scrapp in the game's English Gallery (possibly an error) and Floating Debris in the official guide book, are the remains of unfortunate robots who tumbled into the chemical pipes in Acid Man's stage. All they can do now is be dragged along by the stream of chemicals, causing some damage on contact with Mega Man should they collide. Scrap come in the form of Metalls, Shield Attacker Ms, Droppies, and Pipettos, and lack pupils in their eyes, making them resemble zombies somewhat. Active Droppies will destroy Scrap on contact to keep the pipes clean, automatically defeating them. Mega Man can also defeat them with his weapons by himself.

Mega Man X series[]

Utuboros head

Scrap appears as the heads of broken Utuboros that appear alongside Scrap Robos in the conveyor belts from Flame Mammoth's stage in Mega Man X, the remake Mega Man Maverick Hunter X, and Mega Man Xtreme 2.

They are generally harmless and X (or Vile and Zero, depending of the game) can even stand on them, but Scrap will cause some damage upon falling on top of X due to their weight. They will simply be carried by the conveyor belts until they fall into the molten metal and get melted. After Chill Penguin's defeat in Mega Man X, the molten metal will cool down and become ice, and the Utuboros heads will break into pieces when they fall off the conveyor belt and onto the ice.

Other appearances[]

Besides the obstacles named Scrap, scrap is a recurring element in the franchise, being visible in large amounts in Dust Man Stage, Recycling Plant Stage, Robot Junkyard Stage, Recycle Lab, Disposal Center, Weapons Repair Factory, and Scrapyard. Some games show debris falling from enemies after their defeat. Some robots are made with scrap or use scrap to attack, including the Special Weapons Dust Crusher, Junk Shield and Silk Shot. Morph Moth is able to draw scrap into his body in order to transform into his moth form. Dust Crusher and Metal Shark Player can swim on scrap, and the latter can use scrap to create replicas of disposed Reploids to assist him. Junk Shops sell a variety of objects, including broken machines that can be recycled into new content.
