The Sega Mega Drive (known as the Sega Genesis in North America) is a video game console developed by Sega. The console was first released in Japan on October 1988. The console was mainly competed with the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990.
The only video game in the Mega Man franchise released for the console was Mega Man: The Wily Wars, initially released in Japan on October 1994.

The Sega Genesis appeared in the Off Panel from Sonic Universe #52 as a memory from Sonic the Hedgehog when Mega Man mentioned the Genesis Unit.
