Shuddering Birthday Present (戦慄のバースディプレゼント Senritsu no bāsudē purezento) is the 25th episode of Rockman.EXE Stream. It aired March 26th, 2005 in Japan.[1] It features Tesla Magnets achieving Cross Fusion for the first time.

Plot[]

Tesla's birthday was approaching. Neo WWW prepared presents for her, but Tesla didn't seem to like it. Tesla decided she’d get her own birthday present and started to create a plan. Then, Neo WWW's asteroids started materializing in the city every night. But strangely, whenever Netto rushes over and tries to cross-fuse to fight, they would just run away without doing anything. Netto and his friends can’t figure out what Neo WWW's goal is. What will happen on Tesla's birthday?[1]

Summary[]

Yuriko stands in the rain, seemingly troubled. She spots a cat, realizing it's alone like her and picks it up. Neo WWW celebrate the seventh day before Tesla’s birthday. However, when she asks for gifts they all nervously give her random items as they’ve run out of gift ideas and money. Tesla is displeased, but her attention shifts to Gauss’ gift, a synchro chip. Afterwards, Inukai uses his Dimensional Chip on Beastman right outside of Higureya. Meijin calls for Netto to report to the scene, but a firework goes off almost as soon as Netto cross fuses. Beastman leaves immediately after, much to Netto’s confusion.

Netto goes to school tired as the same thing keeps happening every night with different Asteroid Navis. On their walk to school, Netto, Meiru, and Chisao notice that Mariko seems tired and distracted. She apologizes and tells them that she’s been dreaming of Yuriko lately. However, she brushes it off, believing that Yuriko died from her fall. Ms. Yuri's Mission That night, Netto talks to Rockman about it, suggesting that Mariko would be happier if she knew Yuriko was alive. Rockman, however, believes they should wait until Yuriko reveals herself on her own terms. Meanwhile, Yuriko sits at a park bench with the cat, looking troubled.

Neo WWW celebrates the last four days before Tesla’s birthday, causing Netto to come out each night to fight one of their Asteroid Navis, just for them to leave immediately after. Manabe and Netto review the items stolen by Neo WWW, confused by the strange variety of them. Manabe is about to give up when Misaki arrives with more information, showing off the locations that were targetted. They notice a pattern, unsure if it’s a coincidence or not. The day before Tesla’s birthday arrives and the same routine occurs. Netto refuses to Cross Fuse, just staring at Beastman with his arms crossed. However, they’re at the same park Yuriko was at. Tesla cross fuses, running into an art gallery when Yuriko follows, plugging Needleman in to the building’s system. Beastman leaves, angering Netto. Netto, Manabe, and Misaki investigate the crime scene, discovering a female figure had stolen every painting from the gallery. Manabe, however, mistakenly believes it’s Yuriko.

The day of Tesla’s birthday arrives and Neo WWW presents her with their gifts, to which she dismisses because she already has what she wanted, a Synchro Chip. For her final birthday present, she decides to fight Netto and Rockman herself. Videoman starts throwing cars around and Netto is called to the scene, but Videoman reveals he’s not the one Netto will be fighting. Netto assumes it’s Yuriko, demanding she come out to fight, but Tesla approaches instead. Netto and Rockman are shocked as they realize Tesla has a synchro chip. Meanwhile, Yuriko enters Mariko’s apartment from her opened balcony. She intends to leave without being seen, but Mariko wakes up, glad to see her sister is alive. Mariko makes her and Yuriko something to drink, catching up with Yuriko as the Dimensional area is seen in the distance. Yuriko gets up to leave and assist the fight. Back at the fight, Netto is facing an unfair fight as both Tesla and the Asteroid Navis attack. Netto is on the verge of defeat, unable to take on five opponents at a time, but Yuriko jumps in to the fight just in time to save him. Yuriko leaves the Asteroid Navis to Netto while she focuses on fighting Tesla. With Yuriko on his side, Netto is able to defeat the Asteroid Navis. Yuriko defeats Tesla, forcing her to Cross Out.

Tesla tries to get up and continue fighting, but Gauss appears, hitting her in the head with a frying pan and knocking her out. Gauss pretends to be distressed and jumps into a manhole, escaping with Tesla. Misaki attempts to talk to Yuriko, but she tells him to stay back and runs off after smiling and saying they’ll meet again.
