Snake Man's Stage is a stage that appeared in Mega Man 3 and Mega Man III that has Snake Man as the boss.

Appearances[]

Mega Man 3[]

Snake Man's Stage takes place inside an eerie tower with the floor being entirely comprised of green tubes that weave in and out of each other. However, the player will come across snake enemies whose heads come out at the ends of some of these tubes, indicating that these are all the bodies of the snake enemies. After dealing with the second mid-boss, the player will eventually transition outside to gray tubes that stand tall in the daylight sky. Most of these gray tubes are hollow, which bring out the stage's unique gimmick. When the player first stands on these, they will start generating cloud platforms that rise up until they leave the screen. They also sway sideways just briefly enough to make platforming difficult. Players should be careful when standing upon the tube as the cloud platforms rise up, as the transition to standing on the platform is a bit buggy and can result in the player getting pushed into a pit if they stand too close to the right side.

Mega Man III[]

MMIIISnakeManStage

Snake Man's stage in Mega Man III.

The background of Snake Man's Stage in the GB demake is now a vibrant jungle, though the floor is still composed of snake-like tubes. As in the NES stage, you will eventually climb high into the sky, though there is no gimmick in this area. There is one gimmick, a single Ladder Press from Mega Man 4, which moves up and down the ladder on the sides and clamps shut every now and then. However, it is only in one room where it guards the stage's E-Tank. Beating this stage will additionally reward the player with Rush Coil.

Valuable pickups to look out for:

  • GBEddie Eddie: Appears in a transition room after the first wave of Bubukan MK-IIs. The only thing in this room is Eddie, who will randomly provide a big health energy, a big weapon energy, a 1-UP, or an E-Tank. If the player doesn't like what they get and doesn't take it, they can re-enter the room to have Eddie provide the player another valuable pickup.
  • ETankGB E-Tank: On a single lonely block in one of the sky rooms. The player needs to jump off the edge of the rightmost ladder to obtain it, but this ladder is guarded by a Ladder Press. The player has to time a leap off the main ladder to reach the second one, which is best done when the Ladder Press is at its lowest, otherwise the player will get hit by the sides.
