Space-Time War (時空じくう戦争せんそう Jikū sensō) is the 32th episode of Rockman.EXE Stream. It aired May 14th, 2005 in Japan.[1]

Plot[]

History has changed dramatically since Shademan and Bubbleman traveled to the past. The world is now under the control of the Darkloids. Rockman heads to the cyberworld of twenty years ago to stop Shademan's actions, but communication with Netto is cut off. While chasing Shademan, Rockman meets Colonel and Colonel’s operator, Barrel. Rockman and Colonel fight Shademan to save the future. However, something strange happens to Rockman's body, which was injured by Shademan.[1]

Summary[]

Rockman is sent through the Space-Time Tunnel, but as he goes through he loses contact with the present day. Due to the instability of the Space-Time Tunnel, Rockman arrives twenty years in the past, but a couple of days after Shademan. Netto worries about Rockman as they lose sight of him in the past. Rockman ventures through an old Internet City, attempting to ask other navis questions, but getting no responses. Rockman is able to confirm that he is twenty years in the past, noting all of the outdated technology, but as he ventures through the city a nearby bank is robbed by Jackass. Rockman recognizes the method used and runs towards the Bank, but he’s too late. This results in the Guard Navis believing he was the culprit. He’s interrogated by an Inspector resembling Hunter, but the interrogation leads to nowhere and further frustrates the Interrogator.

Jackass attempts to steal the Ameroppan Military’s data, but he’s stopped by Colonel. Barrel talks to the Inspector, impressed that the Police were able to find the hideout when the Inspector mentions catching a blue Net Navi, which catches Barrel’s attention. Unfortunately for the Inspector, Rockman escapes while he’s away. Rockman encounters an enraged Navi attacking bystanders. When attempting to stop the navi he notices fang marks on the Navi’s neck. At the same time, the mark left by Shademan’s bite on Rockman’s neck begins to throb. The enraged navi suddenly turns into a Dark Aura and infects Rockman through the bite on his neck, knocking him unconscious.

In the present day, Darkloids continue to reign over the world. The group at the Observation Tower worry, but Netto remains confident that Rockman will return History back to normal. Rockman wakes up in Barrel’s apartment computer. Barrel explains he’s been infected with the Dark Aura, but that in their current time they have no vaccine. Barrel is already aware of the current issue, having sent Colonel to interrogate the state of the present time. Rockman shows Barrel the emblem on the enraged navi’s chest from before which Barrel recognizes as a company logo. Barrel makes his way to the company, but Ijuuin Shuuseki explains a part of the Network Factory was closed off.

In the present day Darkloids begin to attack the area. Meanwhile Rockman and Colonel enter the Company's Network. After being plugged in, the Dark Aura infecting Rockman takes full control and he attack Colonel. At that time, the Observation Tower is able to track down Rockman’s signal. Colonel attempts to freeze Rockman in place, but Shademan breaks him free, forcing Colonel to fight two against one. Netto and Yuichiro make their way to the Space-Time Tower, sending a Vaccine Chip is sent through the Past Gate right as Rockman is about to delete Colonel.  However, saving Rockman isn’t enough as Shademan reveals he infused his Darkloid factor into a missile that will turn all Net Navis into Darkloids. Rockman jumps onto the missile, desperate to stop the change in history. He makes the fatal decsision to let go of the missile to reach the Darkloid factor and destroy it, falling over a bottomless abyss. It destroys the missile, causing History to return to normal.

Rockman is brought back to the present, but as he’s pulled through the past tunnel, his dark aura is extracted from him by an ball of light and he sees a glimpse of a darker version of himself. Barrel contacts Netto, warning Netto that Duo’s tests are still ahead and reveals he also has Duo’s crest, but his future self hasn’t informed him of what they must do yet. Trivia[]

  • The theme song of ShadeMan plays over the episode's title card after its cold opening.
  • Ijuuin Shuuseki works at a company that isn’t IPC in the past, but he’s shown to have major interest in Barrel’s Progress PET. It’s possible that his interest is what sparked his creation of IPC.
